Summer Baseball

The Covington summer baseball program will consist of 5 ½ weeks of baseball starting in the last week of May and concluding July 1st. It is important that you are in attendance throughout the summer, so please make vacation plans during the month of July. As a member of the CHS baseball program, you will only be asked to come out of pocket for three expenses: Summer baseball ($150), fall workout gear ($25), and spring baseball apparel ($120). Therefore, we are asking that each player pay a $150.00 summer baseball fee to cover the costs of insurance, equipment, umpires, field maintenance, coaches, & student workers. Please make the checks payable to cash. Each player will be provided with a hat and jersey, but must supply their own grey baseball pants and navy socks/belt. The 2015 summer baseball program will be used as an extended tryout period for our players as well as a vital developmental period for all the young men involved. This 5 ½ -week period gives our guys a chance to gain experience in a low-pressure environment.

We will use this summer to evaluate our players to develop a depth chart for the 2016 baseball season. Remember, all playing time is earned and never given!! At the end of the summer we will be making additional cuts to our current roster. All players will be given this summer to prove they deserve to be a part of our program next spring. Please understand that some roles will be greater than others, so it is important to take advantage of all opportunities given.
