Step 1: Once you have made your way to the CyberScavenger page, first search for your hunt using the field below. Hit enter when done.

Step 2: Once you have successfully searched for the hunt, it should appear below in the “Hunt Name” section. As well as the teacher’s name who uploaded the hunt.

(Note):If you don’t recognize the teacher name, you might have the wrong hunt. If that is the case, re-search for the hunt you were looking for.

Once you have verified that you have found the hunt you are searching for, double click the hunt name. Once you do this, the Student Login should be selectable. Once it becomes selectable click the box, and you should be re-directed to the login page.

Step 3: Once you have been redirected to the log in page, you should be able to log in. Your user name and password should have been provided to you before this point. If it has not been, ask for one.

Step 4: Once you have successfully logged in, you now have a few options. You may edit a previous activity (If you have previously created one) or you may create a new activity, those fields are displayed below for each option.

Step 5: If you have not yet created an activity, go ahead and follow these steps to do so. First click on New Activity (as displayed in the upper right hand corner of step 4) and you should be re-directed to the page below. Now, upload a picture by clicking “choose file” in the upper left hand corner, and then fill out the text fields inside the red boxes.

When you upload a photo, CyberScavenger will notify you that your photo is not geo tagged. What this means, is that CyberScavenger would like you to set (roughly) estimated location of where your photo was taken. The display box shown below should appear when you’ve selected a picture. Then, hit Ok.

Step 6: Once you have hit Ok (In previous step), you should be re-directed to a page that allows you to set the location. You can do this by entering the DMS coordinates, or you can select Decimal (latitude/longitude). Once you have selected your coordinates, click submit at the bottom of the screen, as highlighted below.

Next, you can create a multiple choice question. To do this, the text boxes will have what you would like to display. The radio buttons to the right of these text boxes, will tell the website which one of your choices is the correct answer, as shown below (by default, choice a is the “correct” answer). When you are done, hit the submit button.

(Note): I have only highlighted choices a and b, because they are the minimum requirements to make a multiple choice question. However, you may enter choices all the way up to choice e if you wish.

Step 7: Once you have hit submit, you can come back to your activity (most recent is at the very bottom) and you may edit this activity at any time. Your activity should be shown, as it is displayed below. In this example, Andrew is selected as the correct answer.
