Standards/Objectives: TN Curriculum Standards

7.19 Create a visual or multimedia display to identify the physical location and major geographical features of
China including the Yangtze River, Yellow River, Himalayas, Plateau of Tibet, and the Gobi Desert.
I Can Statements:
  • I can create a visual to identify the physical location and major geographical features of China including the Yangtze River, Yellow River, Himalayas, Plateau of Tibet, and the Gobi Desert.

General Overview:

Students will partake in an interactive lesson by accessing an online Glog (online poster) created specifically to cover the standard listed above. Directions are listed on the Glog; however, teachers need to preview the Glog beforehand in order to provide instruction and guide students as they complete the Glog. Students will watch a YouTube video created by MrZoller on China’s geography, and while doing so, they will take notes. The interactive notes are provided on the Glog for students to copy; however, the teacher may choose to provide those notes in a handout beforehand instead of having students copy them. Students will also label a physical map of Asia handout (specifically the major landforms listed in the standard), and they may check their labels via the Quizlet link provided on the Glog. The teacher may choose to either review/grade answers to the interactive notes and physical map in class or after class.
