ST. COLUMBA’S ROMAN CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL – VENTURE STREET

Dear Parents

St. Columba’s RC HS has decided to take part in a project called “Venture Street” in Dunfermline. The empty shop units in Bruce Street will be given over to local enterprises, wishing to set themselves up as a business, from Friday 14 November until Wednesday 24 December.

Our “Citizenshop” moving into town will be a great opportunity to:

  • Encourage our six year students to become entrepreneurs;
  • Establish links with our local community;
  • Raise funds for worthwhile causes.

50% of profits will go to a school based project, 25% will go to SSVP (Society of St. Vincent de Paul), and 25% to a project in Ebola affected countries. Our Enterprise groups and the XL Club will also be selling their items at the shop and profits will go directly to their projects.

As you can imagine running a shop every day for six weeks would be a difficult task for a school, so we may not be open every day, but there are other opportunities for you to support us and raise funds. We will have a staff at each of the parents’ evenings this term (Thursday 20 Nov & Tuesday 2 Dec.) the Christmas Fayre on Saturday 29 Nov and the Christmas Concert Tues 16 Dec.
