Meeting Topic:“Tales from the Dark Side – My Return to the Job Market 20 Years Later”
Topic Description:
“Tales from the Dark Side – My Return to the Job Market 20 Years Later” will be an informative (and humorous) exploration of how searching for a position in the new millennium is so dramatically different than the past. What documents do you need now, how do you exploit professional networking sites, and why is being on LinkedIn not the only thing you need to know to successfully network? How can you effectively create your own “brand” and remain true to it in your search? Is it time to explore that career change you always wanted to pursue? What about keeping financially solvent while you engage in your search? How long before unemployment is going to start to level off and decrease and when is the down-trodden market going to show some signs of real recovery? This and a number of topics will be touched upon during what is promised to be an eye-opening and fast paced look at the world of a person trying to find that “next opportunity”.
