  • The actor agrees to arrive on time to all rehearsals and further agrees to meet all directorial deadlines regarding memorization of lines, songs, routines, blocking, dances, and other production demands. Once a scene is blocked, it is to be memorized, meaning OFF BOOK. Failure to comply with the foregoing stipulation on the part of the actor may result in dismissal.
  • The actor is to maintain good grades during their involvement in the show. Rehearsals will not be an excuse for unfinished homework or not being prepared for class and vice versa.
  • Rehearsals are mandatory and take place Mon-Thurs after school, on some evenings and Sundays. Two weeks before the actual performances, expect rehearsals to be every night Mon-Thurs. and all day Sunday. The director reserves the right to add additional rehearsals as needed, taking into account holidays and Shabbat. A detailed rehearsal schedule is available on line, simply go to
  • No actor may ask to leave rehearsal early or arrive late. Coming to rehearsal late two times = one unexcused absence. If the warm-up has begun you are late.
  • TO BE EARLY IS TO BE ON TIME. TO BE ON TIME IS TO BE LATE. TO BE LATE IS UNACCEPTABLE!
  • Actor’s conflict dates (only two conflicts are permitted)MUST be handed inat the time of auditions. Theseare the ONLY dates of rehearsal that may be missed. No CONFLICTS will be ACCEPTED after the actor has been CAST. No EXCEPTIONS!
  • All actors agree to participate in the annual Drama Department CabaretSunday, March 13. The event is to raise money for their show. They will be required to work at the event and in some cases perform as well.
  • There are NO CELLPHONES allowed at rehearsal. All phones will be turned off and placed in a box on the director/stage manager’s table. Phones may be picked at the end of rehearsal.

  • The actor must have their script and music and a pencil. These items are to be brought to every rehearsal.
  • The actor agrees to sell a minimum of $250.00 of ads for the ad book, as well as 20 show tickets (includes patron and sponsors). The ad book and show tickets are the primary sources of funds for the Upper School Musical each year. Costume rentals, props, theater rental, the professional orchestra and set costs rely on funds raised, so it is imperative that the ad book and theater are filled to the max!
