Music

Private Instruction

Prices range from $12-25 per 30-minute lesson or $150-300 per 12-week semester, depending on whether the instructor is an Emmanuel College student, affiliate instructor, or EC faculty. Please contact the Academy office for instructor availability and fees.

Musical Theatre/Voice Class

Ages 6-16 years old; Dr. Deborah Stark, Instructor; $150; Thursdays 5-6 p.m., Room T109

This exciting performance class is designed to develop skills for the singing-actor. The course will cover the basics in theatrical singing, voice production & technique, dramatic presentation, stage etiquette, dance movement and audition techniques. Students will learn solo and large ensemble pieces and will perform in the Academy student recital.

Kids Art Exploration
Ages 6-13; Mrs. Benet Berryman, Instructor
Cost: $140 (including the $15 art supply fee). Dates: 10 weeks- 1/26 through 4/23on Thursdays 5-6 p.m., Education Bldg. 105
This class will cover the art elements and consist of different art mediums. It will involve drawing, a combination of mixed-mediums as well as color pencils and watercolors. Basic art materials will be required; pencils, erasers, sketchbook, small portfolio, and a few additional materials during the session. Students will display a final art piece at the conclusion of the semester. Class limit is 10.

Scottish Country Dance

Ages 10-100; Cost: $96 (no family member discounts) Dates: 8 weeks- 1/26through4/9 on Mondays 5-6 p.m., Taylor ChapelScottish country dancing (SCD) is a sociable dance form with roots stretching back for centuries. Participants are grouped into sets and work together to dance a sequence of formations. Dances vary considerably in complexity and ease of dancing – thus dances can cater to beginners or challenge and interest the most experienced dancers, or, as more usually happens, provide a range to suit most tastes. All that is needed are comfortable clothes and flat shoes (ballet shoes are acceptable).

*Students must be members of the Academy. The yearly Academy membership fee is $30 per individual or $50 per family per academic year. This fee is waived for EC faculty, staff and full-time students.
