Set A – Scenario
You love to read and feel a personal sense of achievement when you score well on AR quizzes. Recently the library media specialist mentioned a list of books that have won the prestigious Newbery Award and you have decided to attempt to read each of the books on this list. The LMS has developed a spreadsheet that will assist you in finding the number of points that each book is worth and the book level of each novel. You can utilize this spreadsheet in order to track your progress on AR by indicating the books that you have read and your score on each of the corresponding quizzes. In addition, you can set goals for AR scores and use the data in order to assess goals associated with your total AR points and Comprehension Score average. Read each of the following prompts and use the AR portion of the spreadsheet in order to answer each of the following questions:

Set B– Scenario
Your math class has recently been studying budgets and their relevance to real-life situations. As a result, you and a group of your classmates have been asked to contribute ideas and aid the library media specialist and the language arts teachers in the selection of novels that will be used in the classroom and will be available in the library. A spreadsheet containing information about books that are being considered for purchase has been created in order to assist in this decision making process. The document contains AR information and the latest prices from Amazon for hardback novels, softbacknovels, books on cassette, and guides for teachers. Use the information in the spreadsheet and respond to each prompt below:
1)The library media specialist wants to buy a hardback and two softback editions of each of the Newbery Awards Books that were given the award from 1990 to 2003. How many total books will she purchase?
