SPECIAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING OF THE LMKP-LID

November 1st 2014

9 AM PACC

The Board of the LMKP-LID has voted to have a special meeting of the LMKP-LID membership to be held on November 1st 2014.The meeting will be held at the PACC.

Since our Annual meeting on July 12th 2014 we have had three board meetings and countless committee meetings. Per our member’s guidance at our annual meeting, we aredeveloping a detailed plan to pump excess water north to the Otter Tail River. While the engineers have been studying various methods to withdraw water from the lake, filter it to remove Zebra Mussel Veligers and pump it to the Otter Tail River, board members have been meeting with property owners along potential routes, downstream lakes on the Otter Tail River and are pursuing numerous funding opportunities. In addition, discussions have begun with local, state and federal regulatory agencies. We are pleased to report that we arereceiving positive feedback from potentially impacted property owners and our downstream neighbors and continue to provide them information as it becomes available.

From the additional studies we are learning the estimated costs of an outlet project may be higher than the estimates presented at our annual meeting. The purpose of the special meeting on November 1st is to present all of this information to you. Also, the board will be asking your approval of a project costing more than $5,000.00, as required by our bylaws, to allow the project to proceed to final planning, permitting and construction.

On a closing note, the current water levels on our lakes are the highest recorded at this time of the year, currently at 47 ¾ inches above the Ordinary High Water [OHW] on Little McDonald and Kerbs Lakes, which is 2 ¾ inches above the levels recordedat the end of September in 2011.Paul Lake is also tracking the same.

We hope to see you on November 1st. Please go to our website, for minutes of our board meetings.
