Tadhg McDonnelladvised the Members / Officials of the provisions of Part 15 of the L.G. Act 2001 and the code of conduct for Members, Officials and non-elected Council committee membersregarding declarable interests of them and of any connected person. Each individual has a responsibility to comply and the Ethics Officer has a duty to ensure compliance with these statutory requirements.He advised that the advice sheet on Ethics would be circulated with each meeting agenda.
1.0Update on Duleek and Slane LAPs
Wendy Bagnall introduced Orla Kirk, Lucy Corscadden and Helen Harrison of BDP Consultants, who have been appointed to prepare the LAPs for Duleek, Slane and Kentstown.
The Consultants circulated and briefed the Members on an information document, which included timeframes in relation to the delivery of these LAPs.
The Members thanked BDP for the presentation and welcomed the start of the process in preparing LAPs for Duleek and Slane. These were two vibrant towns, which needed a LAP to help them achieve their futurepotential and ensure there was balanced development. The Members raised a number of queries, which the consultants / officials answered.
2.0Update on Drogheda Environs LAP
Wendy Bagnall gave a PowerPoint presentation on this issue. She advised that there were a few minor issues still to be resolved and she would liaise with the consultants on these. The Members welcomed the presentation and requested that the Plan go on public display as soon as possible.
3.0To discuss matters in respect of Protocol Committee in relation to planning applications
The Members raised the following queries:
- that the Planning Section advise local architects on a regular basis to keep them updated on any new Planning regulations
- that the general public are likewise informed
Wendy Bagnall and Fergal O’Bric said they would consider these requests.
The Members also raised the following planning application:
- SA/801715 ShannonHomes
Wendy Bagnall indicated to the Members that work had recommenced on the Bettystown Framework Plan and the Eco Lands Framework Plan.
