2014 Achievement in Academic Business Librarianship

The SLA Business & Finance Division, College and University Business Libraries (CUBL) Section is offering the fifth annual Achievement in Academic Business Librarianship award in the amount of $1,500.00 to be awarded at the 2014 SLA Annual Conference inVancouver June 8-10, 2014.

ELIGIBILITY

  • Applicants must have an MLS degree from an accredited library or information science program.
  • Applicants must have been a member of the SLA Business & Finance Division and the College and University Business Libraries Section since March 1, 2013.
  • Applicants must have a minimum of three full years but no more than eight years in an academic library business position.

APPLICATION PROCEDURES

  • Complete the application below.
  • Prepare an essay, in English, of approximately 700 words or less, detailing your accomplishments in the field of academic business librarianship.
  • Submit supplementary evidence of exemplary librarianship which can include published journal articles, books, conference presentations, excellence in teaching, online tutorials or innovative services at their institution. Example(s) of the work that the applicant is being nominated for should be submitted with the application.
  • Submit the application, essay, current CV and supplementary materials in Rich Text (RTF), PDF or Microsoft Word format to Eve ater than March 14, 2014.

POST AWARD REQUIREMENTS

  • The recipient of the Achievement in Academic Business Librarianship Award will be asked to serve on the CUBL Academic Business Librarianship Award Committee during the

2014-2015 term.

NOTIFICATION

  • All applicants will receive notification of award status by mid-April 2014.
  • The recipient of the award is required to attend the Conference and MUST attend the Business & Finance Division’s Award Ceremony (7:30 – 9:30 pm) on June 8, 2014in Vancouverto receive their checks.
