Special Events Volunteer

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic volunteer to work in the Special Events Team.

We are a small and lively team looking for someone to help assist the Special Events team in planning and organising existing events. Main responsibilities include helping with the Special Events calendar by assisting the team to grow and nurture the Specialevent guests and help with the day to day organisation of the events. The post holder will also have the opportunity to work on a range of Special events by assisting the line manager in research, marketing and donor care.

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate they are well organised; possess good research skills and who is a confident communicator. This is the perfect opportunity for someone wishing to gain experience in the charity sector and offers a chance to understand how Special events work. The post holder will have the opportunity to help out at relevant fundraising events and will also receive 1:1 coaching from the line manager.

VOLUNTEER ROLE PROFILE

Role Title:Special Events Volunteer

Purpose:To support the Special Events Fundraising

Reports to:TBC

Role Location:Sparks HQ, WestminsterTower, 3 Albert Embankment, London, SE1

Role duration:12 weeks or similar as required

Expenses: Travel (as agreed) and food expenses (up to £5 per day)

Main responsibilities

  • To support the Specialevents team providing assistance with beneficiary & special events
  • To help supporter Sparks Specialevents participants through regular communication and donor care
  • To help assist the Specialevents team with admin duties
  • To research into marketing opportunities for specific Special Events
  • To assist the Special Events team in monitoring the development of selected events, helping to ensure that objectives are achieved and participants are satisfied

Person Specification/Desired Skills

  • Team worker with excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Able and willing to work at a hands-on level and at evenings/weekends as required
  • Enthusiastic with a desire to develop fundraising knowledge
  • Strong interest in sporting events, including Golf
  • Versatile and self-motivated with ability to manage own time effectively
