General/Procurement:

  1. How many installs are expected per day?

ANSWER: Contractor shall complete installations as necessary to be completed by the end of the period of performance.

  1. What is the estimated time per install (including activation and photos)?

ANSWER: Contractor is responsible for installation schedule.

  1. Between what hours of the day can the installs be performed completed?

ANSWER: Working hours are at the discretion of the Contractor.

  1. What days of the week can the installs be performed?

ANSWER: Working days are at the discretion of the Contractor.

  1. Please share any non-METRO supplied equipment and materials that is needed that the vendor will have to purchase to complete an install?

ANSWER: See items in Scope of Work.

  1. Will all the beacons be picked from Metro at one time or in phases throughout the project? If in phases, please advise as to what will need to be stored per phase?

ANSWER: All beacons will be available for contractor pickup however phasing shall be determined by the contractor.

  1. If all equipment needs to be picked up at once, what are the dimensions of the boxes and number boxes? This is necessary to know the storage space requirements.

ANSWER: See answer to item 6

  1. What is meant by extended bid price?

ANSWER: Extended bid price is unit price multiplied by estimated quantities.

  1. What is work is included under the $5000 site mobilization cost?

ANSWER: Activation of a contractor's physical and manpower resources for transfer to a constructionsite until the completion of the contract.

  1. Does anything need to be done to prep the beacons prior to install or are they ready to be deployed upon delivery to vendor?

ANSWER: Beacons are ready to be installed.

  1. Will all employees of the contractor involved with the project that will have a METRO phone be required to attend training regarding METRO issued phones, or only those employees/manager who have been deemed responsible for the phones by the vendor?

ANSWER: All personnel that are responsible for phones shall attend training.

  1. If all employees who will be issued a phone needs to attend the training, will additional training be provided after the start of the project to account for new employees who may hired by the vendor after the start of the project?

ANSWER: No additional training will be scheduled.

  1. Will the phones provided come with cases and/or screen protectors designed to prevent the phone from being damaged in the event it is dropped?

ANSWER: Yes, phones comes with cases and screen protectors.

  1. What’s the replacement cost for the METRO issued phone if lost or damaged?

ANSWER:The replacement cost for the METRO issued phone if lost or damaged is $100.

  1. Do you anticipate the installation of the beacon interfering with the flow of traffic? If so, what safety precautions are recommended to be prepared to handle this?

ANSWER: Bus stop poles are not located in the lane of travel. Contractor is responsible for any necessary safety precautions as they see fit.

  1. Will all beacons be installed at the same height? If so, what is that height?

ANSWER: Beacons will be installed at the top of the pole as shown in the Scope of Work. Heights may vary depending on pole height.

  1. If the height in which the beacon needs to be installed will vary, what is the maximum height that can be expected?

ANSWER: Maximum pole height will be 12 feet.

  1. Are there any uniform or identification badge requirements for this project?

ANSWER: There are no uniform requirements. However, contractor will be required to follow all safety regulations as defined in the site specific safety plan.

  1. What is the process for handling/reporting missing bus signs?

ANSWER: Missing bus signs will be reported in writing to the Project Manager and beacon will be returned to METRO PM.

  1. What is the anticipated project start and end date?

ANSWER: See Scope of Work

  1. In Section 1 it notes that the Period of Performance is 180 calendar days. Is this the time Metro estimates it will take to complete this project?

ANSWER: This is the period of Performance in which the contractor will be expected to complete the project.

  1. What is the budget for this project?

ANSWER: Budget numbers are not discussed prior to bid award.

  1. Is the Small Business participation goal really 0% as stated on page IV?

ANSWER: Small Business Participation goal is as stated in the Solicitation documents and as discussed in the pre-bid meeting.

  1. What is the payment schedule for completed work?

ANSWER: Contractor will submit requests for progress payments at 30 day intervals for completed work only.

  1. Regarding the 31 days allotted for inclement weather, does the vendor or METRO determine when the weather is inappropriate for outside work?

ANSWER: Weather days are allotted at the discretion of METRO.

  1. Has the funding for this project already secured?

ANSWER: YES

  1. Once the project is completed and we are under the One Year Warranty, will all replacement and repairs fall under this warranty regardless of the cause?

ANSWER: Warranty covers workmanship/installation issues only.

  1. Has the double sided tape that is being used to install the beacon been tested in the field with the conclusion being that it can withstand extreme heat and rain without losing its adhesive properties?

ANSWER: Contractor shall install beacons as defined in the Scope of Work.

  1. It’s my understanding that approximately 1800 beacons were installed during field testing. How many beacons remain to be installed?

ANSWER: See Amendment #1.
