Use the Outlook for Android app

By using the Outlook for Android you can access your email, calendar, contacts, and OneDrive files from within the app rather than having to check separate apps.

NOTEYou cannot access tasks from the Outlook for Android app.

  1. Download theOutlook for Android appfrom the Google Play store if you haven't installed it yet.

If you already have it installed, open it and then depending on your device, tap the navigation control at the bottom of your Android, or tapMoreSettingsAdd Account.

  1. TapExchange.
  2. Enter your full email address, , type your password, and then tapSign in. Outlook for Android then starts syncing the account.
  3. To view your calendar, files, or contacts from the app, tapMore.

Use the built-in Android mail app

TIPThe appearance of Androids can vary so use these steps as a guide or consult the manufacturer's help for your particular device.

  1. TapSettingsAccountsAdd accountEmail or Settings > General tab > Accounts & Sync
  2. SelectAdd accountExchangeif available. If not selectExchangeor Corporate Mail.
  3. Type your full email address, , type your password, and then tapNext.
  4. Depending how the Exchange administrator in your organization set up your account, you might receive a message about additional security features. SelectOKto continue.
  5. Once the device verifies the server settings, theAccount Optionspage opens. Accept the defaults or select the options for how you want to receive and send your mail, and then tapNext. (You may need to scroll down to seeNext.) If you don’t get this page and it appears to be asking for Server Address or Domain\Username information skip to Manual set up below.
  6. On theSet up emailpage you can change the name of your account. When you're finished tapDone.

If you synced your calendar and contacts in step 5 you can go to those apps on your phone to view any items that might be there. If you synced tasks as well, you should see them in the calendar app on your device. It might take a few minutes for everything to sync.

Manual set up

  1. Review the settings on theExchange server settings page and update if necessary.
  2. Email Make sure your full email address is in this box, for example, .
  3. Domain\Username Type your full email address in this box, for example, . IfDomainandUsername are separate text boxes in your version of Android, leave theDomainbox empty, and type your full email address in theUsernamebox.
  4. Password Use the password that you use to access your account.
  5. Exchange Server The server name for Office 365 for business isoutlook.office365.com.
  6. Make sure theUse secure connections (SSL) box is checked.
  1. TapDone.
  2. Depending how the Office 365 administrator in your organization set up your account, you might receive a message about additional security features. SelectOKorActivateto continue.
  3. Accept the defaults or make changes for how you want your account to sync on your device. When you're finished, swipe to the bottom and tapNext.
  4. On theSet up emailpage you can change the name of your account. When you're finished tapDone.
