BILATERAL COOPERATION WITH THE AMERICAS:

The strategic areas of bilateral cooperation are focus on:

  • Democratic governability, citizen participation and institutional backup;
  • Cover the Basic social needs;
  • Social and Economic network (areas of education and health);
  • Culture in the development Framework;
  • Protection and improvement of the environment; and
  • Gender equity.

SPANISH COOPERATION PROGRAM:

Regional Cooperation Program with Central America:

The objective of the program is to promote the strengthening of the institutions likened to the process of regional integration, in order to improve the design and execution of public policies oriented to improve human development and the effectiveness in the struggle to reduce poverty. The strategic areas of this program are:

  • Strengthening and modernization of the public administrations;
  • Define the procedures for the distribution of Medicines;
  • Education and labor insertion;
  • Sustainable development and Management of natural resources;
  • Natural Disaster prevention and reduction of the ecologic vulnerability;
  • Strengthening of the productive sector;
  • Gender; and
  • Institutional strengthening of the General Secretariat of the SICA.

Araucaria Program XXI:

Secure the environmental sustainability in Latin Americaby the preservation and sustainable use of natural resources; the program is executed by five strategic areas:

  • Environmental planning and management;
  • Biodiversity and indigenous people;
  • Ecotourism;
  • Sustainable productive systems; and
  • Renewable energy.

Cooperation Program for the Development of the Indigenous People:

The program contributes to activities related to:

  • Participation of indigenous people representatives in regional and global meeting that affect the recognition of their rights;
  • Regional projects in which media is used as an instrument for the development of the indigenous people;;
  • Strengthening of the indigenous organizations;
  • Projects that focus on the institutional strengthening of the indigenous people and their communities; and
  • Reports, studies, and publications of cooperation fro the development of the indigenous people.

INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION PROGRAM OF SPAIN:

  • Fight against poverty and hunger and to eradicate inequalities
  • Expand the rights, opportunities, and capacities of disadvantaged people as well as economic support
  • Promote and defend human rights worldwide
