Middle School Honor Band Itinerary

THURSDAY, DECEMBER 1

9:50 a.m. (Locker break) Load vehicles and bus at Southside Middle School

10:00 a.m. Depart SMS for Troy

Travel to I-85 Exit 16, take Mt. Meigs/Waugh exit and follow Hwy. 80 to Pike Road (Co. Rd. 85), then turn left on US 231 South.

11:30 a.m. Eat lunch in Troy

1:00 p.m. Go to campus; park and walk to tryout area; warm up; registration

See enclosed packet regarding audition requirements for each instrument

2:00 p.m. Auditions begin . . . we wait for everyone to finish

4:00 p.m. Check in to hotel / free time at hotel

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 2

7:00 a.m. Breakfast at hotel

8:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Rehearsal in assigned areas

10:30 a.m. Concert: Mabry Middle School (we all attend)

11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Rehearsal in assigned areas / Mr. Bird attends band director clinic

12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. Lunch

1:30 p.m. Concert: Pinckneyville Middle School (we all attend)

2:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Rehearsal in assigned areas

Mr. Bird attends band director clinics

5:00 p.m. – 6:15 p.m. Dinner Break

6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Rehearsal in assigned areas

8:30 p.m. Troy University Jazz Ensemble Concert

(AWESOME – they were at our Jazz Fest last year!)

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 3

6:30 a.m. Breakfast

7:30 a.m.-8:30 a.m. Final Rehearsal

8:30 a.m. Check out of hotel / change into “uniform” Don’t forget S & E medals

(purple shirt, black pants, black socks, black shoes)

9:45 a.m. Call time in Trojan Arena – Sartain Hall

10:00 a.m. Concert performance

BOOSTER CLUB PAYS THE $65 REGISTRATION ONCE YOU ARE SELECTED.

WE ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR PAYING A SHARE OF THE TOTAL HOTEL BILL.

ONCE WE KNOW WHO IS SELECTED AND WHO WILL BE ATTENDING, THEN WE NEED THE WAIVER (ATTACHED) AND YOUR PART OF THE HOTEL COST.

WE TYPICALLY HAVE BETWEEN 20 AND 25 STUDENTS MAKE THIS TRIP, SO WE WILL NEED AT LEAST 5 CHAPERONES TO VOLUNTEER FOR THE WEEKEND.

WE WILL NOT KNOW WHO HAS BEEN CHOSEN UNTIL MID-TO LATE NOVEMBER.
