Table Tennis: The Table Tennis Grand Finals in both Seniors and Juniors were the closest in modern times with both finals being decided in the last match of the night. In the Seniors Port Augusta Refrigeration Eagles won their 5 premiership in 6 years with an exciting win over the unlucky McDonalds Hawks 15 rubbers, 59 games to 15 rubbers 55 games. The last match was decided in a 5 setter with Trish Taylor and Daniel Kotz defeating Vicki Bemmerl and Georgia Thomas 11/7 in the last. It was a consistent effort for the Eagles with no standouts on the night, Rhys Bavington, Dave Christie and Matt Gower who came in for Alby Kroes winning 2 games. For the Hawks, who were missing Pam Thomas, the standouts were club champion John Marsh and Bob Bemmerl with 2 wins and Karl Chamberlain with 2 wins. The Hawks were unlucky to lose this game and have lost 2 years in a row now to the Eagles.
