Principles for Pingpong Association at ChineseSchool (PACS)

(Revised on 2007.10.27)

Purposes

  • Have fun and exercise by playing Pingpong; enjoy our life and improve our health
  • Exchange opinions and experience to improve our skills for extra fun
  • Share information and Pingpong - related items, such as rackets, rubbers, etc
  • Enhance the organization and arrangement of pingpong activities at CCCCA
  • Organize tournaments within the club or in the region

Membership and the Fee

  • There are two types of membership for the club, i.e. Regular and Senior
Senior Membership is for the individuals who are 60 years or older
  • Membership fee is required for Regular Members and it is waved for Senior Members
  • In the beginning of each CCCCA semester, membership fees will be collected from players. The amount of the fee will be decided by the club committee based on needs and discussion
  • For the players who come occasionally, they have an option to pay $2.00 each time or an equivalence (e.g. $10 for 5 times). The amount of “each time fee” may vary, and will be about 10% of the membership fee
  • All the fees will be used to purchase publicly used pingpong items, e.g. tables, nets, and balls. Financial statements will be sent to the members via email twice each semester

Club Committee (Steering Group)

  • The club committee consists of four members: Head, Treasurer, Program Director, and Organizational Director. The committee members are elected by voting from the club members via email or Internet
  • One term for each committee member is one year. In the early period of each CCCCA spring semester, the current committee will organize the election of the new committee
  • The service of the committee members is voluntary. They can quit any time, but serving until the end of a term is recommended. A committee member can serve multiple terms upon their own willingness and the club member’s agreement

Major Issues and Voting

  • Decision on the club’s major issues (e.g. major amendments of the club’s principles and election of the committee members) will be made by voting from the club members via email or Internet

Members’ Contact Information

  • It is recommended (not required) that the club members provide their email addresses (most wanted) and phone numbers, which will be included in the club’s Group Email List and Member List
  • Email will be the major means for the club to do voting, organize and arrange tournament games, and to ask for services. A member will probably lose such opportunities without email information
  • Do not distribute other members’ contact information outside the club without permission
