Fulton neighborhood crime reports

January 7 Between 11 a.m. January 7 and 8:45 a.m. January 9, an unknown suspect forcedentry to a home on the 5200 block of Xerxes and neatly searched the premises. The extent of the loss was unknown at the time the report was made.
January 9 At about 8:45 a.m., an officer at West Lake Harriet Parkway & Russell Ave stopped a vehicle which had its driver's side rear wing window broken out. The driver stated that he had no license and that he was a student at Washburn High School. The officer found that the vehicle had been freshly stolen. The driver, a 14-year-old male, was arrested for motor vehicle theft, booked at the Juvenile Unit, and then released to 3rd Precinct property crime investigators. A passenger, a 15-year-old male, was arrested for tampering with a motor vehicle and booked at the Juvenile Unit.
January 10 Between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m., an unknown suspect forced open the rear patio door of a home on the 5300 block of Zenith, gained entry, and stole a laptop computer.

January 16 During the day, a witness saw two males with a pickup truck steal metal from a trailer in the backyard of a site underconstruction on the 4700 block of Chowen. The metal was being saved for recycling.

January 24 Between January 24 and 28, an unknown suspect entered an unlocked vehicle which was parked on the street on the 4800 block of Upton and removed property valued at over $1,000.

February 4 At about 3:15 p.m., at the end of the school day, two female students met on the corner of 47th & Abbott outside of Southwest High School, 3414 West 47th St, and willingly and mutually started fighting. A crowd of students gathered, acting disturbed, angered, and amped up. School staff broke up the fight. At the request of the school administration, the two 15-year-old females were cited for disorderly conduct.

Forced entry property crimes

January 8 Between 7:10 a.m. and 8 p.m., an unknown suspect forced entry to a home on the 5500 block of Washburn in Armatage through the rear door. The extent of the loss was unknown at the time of the report.

January 8 Between 10 a.m. January 8 and 12:05 a.m. January 9, an unknown suspect burglarized a home on the 3900 block of France in Linden Hills. Both the front and rear doors were forced open and a laptop computer was stolen. Officers found shoe prints on the south side of the house which were similar to those found at other burglaries in the area.

January 8 Between 5 p.m. and 10:15 a.m., an unknown suspect stole a van which was parked in the rear driveway of a home on the 5000 block of Colfax in Lynnhurst. The van had a TV, VCR, and DVD player installed, which was valued at $500.

January 30 At about 1:35 p.m., a suspect broke out the front passenger side window of a vehicle which was parked on the 4100 block of West Lake Harriet Parkway in Linden Hills. No loss was reported. The victim saw the suspect return, rummage through another parked vehicle, and then flee from the area.

February 7 At about 11:15 a.m., officers responded to an alarm at a home on the 6100 block of Upton in Armatage. This was found to be a burglary in progress.

Unsecured property

January 26 Between 8:30 and 11:30 p.m., unknown suspect(s) entered a garage on the 5100 block of Dupontin Lynnhurst through an unlocked service door and stole four bikes. The suspect(s) cut the cable locks which secured the bikes to a rack.

Other incidents

January 8 At about 6:45 p.m., officers at 47th & Aldrich in Lynnhurst arrested 40-year-old Wilbert Miller of 527 North 7th St for a U.S. Marshals Service warrant. Miller, who has been released to federal authorities, has been arrested in Minneapolis three times in the past four months for loitering with intent to buy or sell narcotics (2) and check forgery.

January 13 At about 1:30 a.m., a person who was sitting in a vehicle at 45th & France in Linden Hills was getting ready to drive off when she heard a loud noise. After driving home, the person found that the vehicle's rear window had been shattered with a small hole in the glass.

January 14 At about 12:20 a.m., officers responded to a report of prowlers at an address on the 5300 block of Emerson in Lynnhurst. The caller reported that a group of three males was walking southbound, trying the door handles of vehicles parked on the street, and stated that one had a possible door jimmy in his hand. Officers found the suspects walking eastbound on 54th St toward Aldrich Ave. A 15-year-old male and a 16-year-old male were cited for curfew violation and transported to the Curfew Center. A 19-year-old male was identified and released. The suspects told the officers that they had come from a Holy Angels soccer game which went until 11 p.m. The suspects were unable to remember the name of the opposing team or the location of the soccer field.

January 15 At about 9:10 p.m., an aggravated robbery of person was reported at 46th & Bryant in Lynnhurst. Unlisted items were taken from a victim.

January 16 At about 9:35 p.m., while the owner of a vehicle was at work at the Holiday Station at 5601 Xerxes Ave in Armatage, two male suspects punched out the vehicle's windows and slashed all four tires. A witness saw the suspects run southbound to an apartment building nearby. Officers were unable to locate the suspects.

January 23 At about 6:30 p.m., the 5th Precinct Community Response Team executed a narcotics search warrant at 5500 Richmond Curve in Armatage. 26-year-old Jeffrey Michael Sklar of that address was arrested for a felony narcotics violation.

January 27 At about 1:20 a.m., officers stopped a vehicle which failed to stop at a Stop sign at 54th & Humboldt. 55-year-old Warren Lawrence Saxon of 4131 41st Ave South was arrested for a misdemeanor warrant out of Bloomington for theft. Saxon has prior convictions in Hennepin County for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, 5th degree assault, domestic assault, obstructing the legal process, driving while intoxicated, and theft.
