Job Description

Job Purpose

To provide a single,lead point of contact for key employers,being responsible for the management of their Apprenticeship, Graduate and otherskills programmes.

To build and maintain key business relationships, that supports the Cogent business plan.

To negotiate and manage(new and existing) contracts to maximise profit in line with KPIs.

Key Accountabilities

  • To work withbusiness partners and employersto be the lead point of contact for all matters including the resolution of any matters arising.
  • To build and maintain strong long-lasting customer and partner relationships which yield results.
  • To work in a team environment to ensure that all opportunities are followed in order to maximise outputs and generate further business in line with agreed objectives.
  • To ensure quality processes are followed, including all key documentation being collected and stored in accordance with Data Protection Regulations.
  • To negotiate contracts and close agreements to maximise profit in line with the business plan.
  • To enable accurate reporting through the consistent and timely use of the Client Relationship Management (CRM) and other data systems.
  • Prepare reports on account status and support the finance team in the collection of overdue accounts.
  • Initially screen Health and Safety standards in employers’ premises, complete required documentation in accordance with Health and Safety regulations.
  • To work with internal and external HEI and FEI delivery teams to arrange appropriate delivery of training solutions, in accordance with set timelines.
  • To monitor, review, in line with agreed delivery timescales and in some cases to assess progression through visiting the workplace.
  • To work with the recruitment team on the recruitment and selection process ensuring a pipeline.
  • To communicate the progress of monthly / quarterly initiatives to internal / external stake-holders.
  • To take an active part in promoting the Cogent offer, at external events (including recruitment fairs) and work with the Marketing team to coordinate press releases, marketing literature (including case studies and news stories) and merchandising.
  • Commit to any developmental training which is aimed to enhance personal skills and continued development.

Key Performance Indicators

  • To meet personal KPIs set by the Head of Department, including the conversion of leads.
  • Maintain learner, Provider and Employer Quality Monitoring & Review systems in line with agreed targets and KPIs.
  • Execute quality processes to ensure that all data is accurately recorded, including learner progress data.
  • Negotiate contracts and close agreements to maximise profits in line with personal KPIs.

Essential Knowledge Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience of selling skills solutions including the sourcing and closing of new business opportunities; ideally within (STEM) industries.
  • Knowledge and experience of apprenticeship framework/standardsand structures of HE qualifications.
  • Experience and knowledge of Apprenticeship or graduate employment, ideally within STEM.
  • Demonstrable ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels including operational, management and executive.
  • Confidence in discussing educational needs with individuals and businesses, with the aim of meeting targets.
  • The ability to successfully work within a target driven delivery area, with proven experience of achieving targets.
  • Previous use of Microsoft products including CRM.
  • Flexible and dynamic, with the ability to convert leads into results.
  • Self-driven and highly motivated to achieve results.
  • Experience in delivering customer focused solutions based on customer needs.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as a member of a team, contributing to the overall objective.
  • Previous experience of managing multi projects and stakeholders.
  • Ability to organise own work-load; work under pressure and to deadlines.
  • Excellent administrative and IT skills – accuracy and attention to detail are important.
  • The ability to communicate effectively at all levels internally and externally.
  • Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Education to A Level or equivalent.
  • NEBOSH qualified or related experience, or willingness to work towards the qualification.
  • Hold a full UK driving license and have own transport as the role requires site visits.
  • Enhanced DBS (to be arranged for suitable candidates).

Desirable Knowledge Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience/knowledge of the life science, process and other science based industries.
  • Experience of delivering excellent service to employers/SFEDI qualification.
  • Direct experience of screening, assessing, supporting and visiting (training / monitoring) learners.
  • Understanding and experience of Sector Skills Councils and other statutory skills bodies
  • Understanding of the Higher and further education system,National Apprenticeship Service, the Skills Funding Agency and funding systems.
