To reduce rough sleeping and associated street activity in Westminster by providing rapid assessment and advice to rough sleepers enabling them to move off the streets.
£13.26 per hour plus £1.41 holiday pay per hour

Responsibilities:

Service Delivery

  • In pairs, working between the hours of 6pm – 3am, within the wider Westminster CAS, provide street outreach across the whole City of Westminster, travelling by car where required
  • Respond to referrals, – e.g. rough sleepers, residents, businesses, members of the public - when possible to prevent rough sleeping as well as to feedback on contact outcomes
  • Facilitate supported reconnections of rough sleepers to the services and areas most appropriate for them
  • Assist partnership agencies as well as the Police and Immigration to reduce anti-social behaviour and rough sleeping hotspots in Westminster.
  • Take part in pan-Westminster operations and audits as requested by the Westminster CAS Team Manager or Coordinators

CSTM Organisational Responsibilities

  • Attend pre-briefing sessions and other meetings as required by the Outreach Team Manager and Coordinators.
  • Work within the confines of the CSTM Data Protection Policy & Procedure
  • Understand and implement CSTM’s Equal Opportunities and all other policies in all areas of work.
  • Ensure that agreed Health and Safety requirements are understood and complied with.
  • Attend internal and external training courses as appropriate.
  • Undertake any other duties that may reasonably be required

Essential

  • Experience of face to face work with vulnerable people or socially excluded adults.
  • The ability to deal with challenging behaviour and be assertive in our response to hot spots and anti-social behaviour and manage the personal stress associated with this
  • The ability to provide a fully sensitive and responsive service to clients
  • The ability to implement CSTM’s Equal Opportunities policy in all aspects of the job.
  • The ability to work cooperatively with other CSTM teams and external partner agencies.
