Activities

  1. Make a list of all the animals Silly Sally met and draw each of them.
  1. Draw a picture of Silly Sally and you walking upside down.
  1. Write a different ending to the story about how Silly Sally got to town.
  1. Draw all of the animals and what they were doing when Silly Sally met them.
Introduction
  1. Show the students the book upside down. Ask them to try and read it. Ask them if it is hard to read upside down. Say, “Today we are going to read a book about a girl named Silly who walks upside down!”
  1. Show the students pictures of animals upside down. Ask them if this seems normal. Why or why not. Say, “Today we are going to read the book Silly Sally.”
  1. When the children walk in, have some things in the room upside down. Ask them if they see anything unusual. Say, “Today we are going to read a book about Silly Sally.”
