To be read before renting boats for your child
I agree…
1. That I am the parent and/or legal guardian of a child who will be participating in Boating Activities (canoeing, kayaking, pedal boating and row boating) at Deer Lake.
2. That my child is physically, emotionally and mentally able to participate in Boating Activities.
3. That I grant permission for my child to participate in Boating Activities at Deer Lake and understand that there are inherent and significant risks (“Risks”) associated with the participation in Boating Activities. I recognize some of the hazards of Boating Activities are wind, collision with other boats, waves, drowning, hypothermia and changing weather conditions. I recognize that there is, at all times, a risk of capsize.
4. That my child is responsible for their own actions with regard to safety at all times during the Boating Activities.
5. That although Deer Lake Boat Rentals has taken steps to reduce the Risks and increase safety of the Boating Activities including having staff who periodically monitor boating activity on the lake, it is not possible for Deer Lake Boat Rentals to make the Boating Activities completely safe.
6. That my child will follow all applicable safety rules outlined by Deer Lake Boat Rentals staff including but not limited to the proper wearing of personal floatation devices at all times provided by Deer Lake Boat Rentals.
7. That my child will ask and follow directions from Deer Lake staff on how to operate and navigate the boats.
8. That I have had sufficient time to read and understand each term in this waiver in its entirety, and have agreed to the terms freely and voluntarily. I understand that this waiver is binding on myself and my Legal Representatives.
