Shepherding Ministry at Resurrection Lutheran Church

Updated on: June, 2016

New Life is being breathed into the Shepherding Ministry resulting in our congregation being divided into twelve flocks. Each flock is made up of 9 or more families who then come under the loving care of one or two Shepherds. All RLC Shepherds come under the care of the Pastor.

Do you know which “flock” you belong to?

Knowing which “flock” your family belongs to is important information, especially when a need arises with one of our RLC families. Below is a listing of each of the “flocks” and their assigned family units. Many were determined purely by demographics and proximity to the other families. The Shepherd(s) for each flock are listed in bold print. A (*)= Seasonal members (**) = friend of RLC.

What to expect from “your Shepherd”?

Once you’ve identified which “flock” your family belongs in, you can expect to hear from “your Shepherd”. Your Shepherd will be calling to not only introduce themselves, but to ask for some general information about your family. They will also want to know the best way to stay in contact in hopes of keeping the lines of communication flowing (24/7) in both directions. Whether it is a need for assistance or the passing on of some important news…your Shepherd wants to be first on your speed dial. Therein begins the “cycle of care” that we want for each of our RLC families. Being there for one another is vital to the life of our growing congregation…and timely communication between yourself, your Shepherd, and your Pastor is the key. If you have any questions whatsoever…do not hesitate to contact your Shepherd(s), your Parish Nurse (Betty Parde), or your Pastor, especially in a time of need.

Blessings on us all as we continue onward with the Shepherding Ministry at Resurrection.
