Lower Third: AVONDALE FARM, BEVERLEY W.A. Greening Australia Volunteering Day.

Lower Third: Oral McGuire, Traditional Owner.

Oral: We've got our functioning wheat/sheep farm that has been farmed for 150, 160 years. And what we hope to do is return it to natural bush.

Lower Third: Dennis Kickett, Indigenous Engagement Advisor

Dennis: My traditional owner group is Balardong, so my father’s family is from here, so we’re from York. So we’re fifth generation from here. So we’re coming out here to plant some native scrub or plants in this beautiful country of mine.

Lower Third: James Pearson, General Manager, External and Government Relations.

James: So today, we're out here at Avondale Farm and what we're doing is we're helping to make Australia more green. And what's really good is we're doing it with the assistance of Greening Australia and we're doing this part of our commitment to reconciliation with indigenous Australia.

Lower Third: Julie Pham, Learning Advisor.

Julie: Everything that we do here is outside of what our day to day job is. So it's great to get involved in working a team to raise awareness for reconciliation plan for Shell.

Lower Third: Mark McCallum, Government Relations Manager.

Mark: So we're currently hoeing to get ready to plant some seeds, so for their seed banks. This is where they generate a lot of seeds for growing around the area, for some of the more sensitive plants.

Lower Third: Kate Richardson, External Relations Advisor

Kate: You feel good about yourself, because you're doing something for someone else, but also helping out Greening Australia to achieve their strategy.

Lower Third: Lisa McKenzie, Commercial Coordinator.

Lisa: Get out here, it's so nice to have a bit of fresh air. It's a lot of fun, it's refreshing, it revitalizes you. It's absolutely brilliant.

Lower Third: Anne Smith, Greening Australia.

Anne: The key thing, if they get the chance in 5 or 10 years time to come back here, on a hot sunny day and walk under the shade of a tree that they planted themselves, that's a spiritual moment.

Vision: Shell workers together outside farmhouse.

Vision: Students meeting with Shell Australia employees at Perth Office.

Lower Third: SHELL AUSTRALIA OFFICE, PERTH W.A. FYA WORLDS OF WORK, STUDENT MENTORING

Lower Third: Naomi Evans, Social Investment Advisor.

Naomi: We have a partnership with the Foundation for Young Australians called Worlds of Work. And what we've got here is a group of students from Kalamunda Senior High School who are really trying to discover what they want to get out of school, what they want to get out of life. And we've got a group of mentors here from Shell, helping them on their journey to do that and giving them their words of wisdom.

Lower Third: Rick Newnham, Commercial Advisor.

Rick: Well, just wanted to basically find some other things to do in the team. And if there's any way that we can inspire these kids to not just work for Shell, but just to get further into their working life and get them excited about leaving school and going into work, that would be great.

Lower Third: Stefan Bramble, Foundation For Young Australians.

Stefan: So all the research has shown us that the more time young people can spend with professionals within an industry, the longer they're going to stay in education.

Lower Third: Cormac, FYA Worlds of Work Participant.

Cormac: We’re interviewing various people with different job titles, and starting to get an idea of what success means to them.

Lower Third: Lauren, FYA Worlds of Work Participant.

Lauren: Just finding out different things, what they went through in their life and how they accomplished their goals and how to set them, if they've ever failed and how they dealt with it.

Cormac: Going out of the ordinary and pushing the limits to increase your confidence and meeting new people and getting new ideas.

Lauren: When you really listen, you get a lot of honesty and everybody tells like, "Yeah, I accomplished this, but I didn't fall into my job." And I feel like, yeah, it's really good.

Rick: It's not a big commitment. Today, it's just 45 minutes or an hour, it's just over lunch. Just go and have a go, and you'll realize as soon as you're in the room, the kids are getting so much out of it and they're enjoying it and they're just really happy to find out that adults are normal people outside of school.

Naomi: Look, I would say to give it a go. You walk away with such a warm feeling and you walk away with an idea that Shell Australia is out there helping the community. And we're using our most valuable resources which is our people, to be able to do that.
