The images you submit are a determining factor of your application but may also be used in your entry in the Elements catalogue and online presenceif you are successful in your application. If successful, you will be given the opportunity to have new work photographed or existing work re-photographed if you so wish.

Terms and Conditions - Important Dates and Information

Dates

The Elements selling fair runs from Thursday 10th to Sunday 13th September 2015 with the set up and evening Private View on Wednesday 9th September.

The stand should be attended by you during Element’s core hours of 10am to 6pm, and for the Private View on Wednesday 9th September from 6-8pm. There may be events arranged for other evenings that week, and we will let you know about these as soon as possible.

Elements will be held at Lyon & Turnbull’s showrooms at:

33 Broughton Place, Edinburgh, EH1 3RR

Eligibility

To be eligible you must meet the following criteria:

  • Living and working in the UK
  • Be available to attend your own stand during Element’s core hours of 10am to 6pm.If you can’t attend your stand for a particular period, please let us know and we can discuss arranging cover.

A range of materials and styles are welcomed but work sold at the fair must:

  • Be made of precious metal although other materials can be included
  • Be compliant with the 1973 Hallmarking Act
  • Be made up of individual or small batch production

Selection Process

Applicants will be chosen by a Selection panel and we will let you know whether you have been selected to take part by email by 12th May 2015. The Panel will be looking for:

  • Excellent design
  • Fine craftsmanship
  • The capacity to produce enough work for a fair of this nature

Cost of exhibiting

The cost of exhibiting is £200 + VAT to secure the stand plus 30% + VAT commission on all sales made at the Fair or through Elements’ online presence on the L&T website. The £200 fee will be payable on receipt of an invoice by 1st June 2015.

Standsand Cabinets

Each exhibitor will be provided with the choice of one of the two following showcases as part of the price of their stand:

  • Table Cabinet W1400 x D575 x H285 (internal measurements cms) or
  • Upright Cabinet W485 x D485 x H1766 (internal measurements cms)

Exhibitors can opt to have a maximum of one additional showcase (either of the above formats) at an additional cost of £150 + VAT.

Insurance

All exhibitors must have their own public liability cover and must provide a loan agreement form for all items, stating the value of each individual item.

Catalogue

Each exhibitor will receive a one page entry in the exhibition catalogue. If you would like a double page spread the charge will be an additional £50 + VAT and you must inform us by email at by 12th June 2015.

For standard single page catalogue entries, the statement that you submit with your application will be used alongside the images of your work.

Catalogue Photography

If you would like any of your items photographed by our professional photographer, a maximum of 4 items can be submitted to Lyon Turnbull by Friday 24th July and can be collected by 31st July.

Online Presence

Lyon & Turnbull will host an online presence around Elements from the beginning of the Fair until the end of September.

Customer Purchases

You must supply all packaging and bags if required.This is a retail fair so please price accordingly and price all work clearly.

Payment for all purchases during the Fair will be made through Lyon & Turnbull’s central payment system. Payment, taking into account the commission, will be made to makers by 25th September 2015 at the latest.

Hallmarking

Any successful applicants who are not already registered with Edinburgh Assay Office can benefit from an exclusive free registration package available only to makers taking part in Elements. Please contact us for further details.
