2018Nomination Form

The Service to Community Award honors a Workforce Development Board that has demonstrated a commitment to the local community through coordination and collaboration efforts that significantly improved Texas workforce system services to the community. Your nomination should detail innovative approaches, which may include marketing/outreach and technology innovations, to meeting community needs through recruiting, hiring, training, upgrading skills, retaining jobs, transitioning workers, coordinating resources, expanding services, eliminating duplication, and involving the community. Describe how the Board served the community through service integration and collaboration with community resources, employers, and workers, focusing on results and the benefits gained by the community, employers, workers, and the state of Texas. Identify community needs, Board goals and objectives, and the economic and social impact on the local community and the Texas workforce system.

Nomination Summary for Conference Materials

Example: Workforce Solutions for Imaginary Area in Texas,Mystery Company ABC

Mystery Company ABC is the largest operator of blankety blank in Texas. It also directly supports workforce development through its membership on the Workforce Solutions Imaginary Board X, aligning with X’s initiative to attract, develop and retain a quality workforce for the Imaginary X area. ABC currently employs 7,500 team members in Location A and is a strong proponent of developing a highly skilled future workforce. To support the Texas workforce system’s goal of ensuring that both employers and workers have the resources and skills needed to remain competitive in the global market last year, Mystery Company ABC initiated and created the Texas Two-Step Education Alliance. This partnership resulted in the direct hiring of eight veterans.
