Purpose of the day

You are invited to the 1st Parents and Carers conference held by the Northwest PBS network.

The event is free and will provide an opportunity for networking with other parents and carers from across the northwest.

The conference will have a number of guest speakers and workshops in the afternoon for people to attend, and a range of stands giving access to information from a range of services

Background: The North West Learning Disability Positive Behavioural Support Network exists in order to share best practise in development and training of the workforce for people with learning disabilities in Positive Behavioural Support. It provides an opportunity for people to come together on a quarterly basis to promote the use of Positive Approaches to Challenging Behaviour Training and the Multi elemental Model across the North West Region.

By:

-Sharing examples of good practise and effective training

-Promoting joint working across the North West Region, Nationally and Internationally

-Agreeing action to promote the use of Positive Approaches to Challenging Behaviour and IABA Training across the North West Region, nationally.

-Share information on the latest developments and implementing local and national policy and guidance

-Respond to the Workforce development needs in relation to national policy including Valuing People and Mansell 2.
