SELECTION CRITERIA FOR INDUCTION

Membership in the Minuteman Hall of Fame will be granted to those nominees who meet the following criteria:

1.Nominees shall exemplify the highest standards of sportsmanship, ethical conduct and moral character. All candidates shall be judged on their significant contributions to the Minuteman school district.

2.Nominees shall have distinguished themselves and brought honor to the Minuteman High School community through their outstanding participation in the athletic program.

3.Nominees shall have continued to distinguish themselves and bring honor to their organizations and community through exceptional achievements and/or service to the Minuteman District community.

4.Nominees shall have serve (d) as extraordinary role models of character, courage, leadership and citizenship that Minuteman High School aspires to educate its student populations as essential virtues to become productive members of today’s society.

The Minuteman High School Hall of Fame invites all members of the general public to make nominations of deserving alumni, coaches, athletes, administrators, officials, and Minuteman community contributors for consideration of induction into the Minuteman High School Hall of Fame.

Certain criteria are required for the application to be accepted and the individual's name placed on the list for consideration. Please read the instructions carefully before completing the nomination form. For all nominees please submit the general information sheet, plus the category sheet for a Distinguished Alumni, Service to Minuteman Community, Athlete, Coach, Team or Significant Other. The page numbers are listed below each category. Thank you for your cooperation.

Completed nomination forms must be submitted by Tuesday, June5th.

Late nominations will be automatically disqualified.

Nominations will be accepted by e-mail or fax.

  1. Complete information on all applicable pages. Be sure to include category of consideration.
  1. Complete general information sheet for nominee.
  1. Complete all requested information under the nominated category. Attach any additional information.
  1. Include any information you feel is important that may not have been requested.
  1. Attach artifacts such as copies of newspaper clippings, articles, etc. verifying information submitted.
  1. Enclose letters of recommendation or support signed by others including contact information.
  1. Concentrate on nominee’s Minuteman High School achievements.
  1. Submit photograph of nominee with application.
  1. Return completed application by mail or deliver to:

Only those nominations post marked on or before Tuesday, May 15 2012 or personally delivered to the office address by 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 15 2012 will be considered for that year. Nominees not selected will be automatically reviewed in subsequent years. Nominees that have not been selected after 5 years will be purged and must be re-nominated to be considered for induction.

CATEGORIES AND ELIGIBILITY FOR NOMINATION

ATHLETICS:

Athlete:Former Minuteman High School graduates will be eligible for nomination for membership anytime after the 10th anniversary of their graduation from high school. The nominee through athletic achievement must have brought distinction and honor to herself or himself, to the Minuteman High School, and to the interscholastic athletic program. The nominee must have participated as a student-athlete in the Minuteman High School athletics for at least two years. The nominee is to be considered for his/her achievements in interscholastic athletics. The nominee must have displayed integrity and be of good character both on and off the field. The nominee may be inducted posthumously.

Coach:A coach’s eligibility will be based upon a high degree of competency and success. Nominees must have contributed toward promoting sound educational values in their athletes. Coaches are eligible for induction after leaving the coaching position for which they were nominated in the Minuteman High School District or immediately after attaining the age of 60 years old.

Team:An athletic team’s eligibility will be based upon the success of the team. Teams are eligible for induction after the 10th anniversary of the graduation of the senior members of the team. No team shall be inducted unless it received the affirmative vote of a minimum 75% from the members of the Minuteman Hall of Fame Selection Committee.

DISTINGUISHED ALUMI:

Distinguished Alumni:Any alumna Minuteman and/or post Minuteman career achievements that have resulted in a highly qualified, outstanding, or excellent recognition, may be inducted into the Minuteman High School Hall of Fame for distinction in the area as a Distinguished Alumni. A distinguished Alumnus will be eligible for induction ten years after graduation from Minuteman High School.

SERVICE:

Service:Any person whose activities and involvement in the Minuteman Community, school supporter, or one whose combinations of activities have resulted in a service qualified as outstanding or excellent. This service must have been provided to the Minuteman High School Community. Only nominees that meet the above criteria will be considered for selection into the Hall of Fame.
