Realism 1860-1890
While Romanticism is a period in which authors celebrate their emotions, writers during Realism are more focused on presenting real life portraits of people and their environment. This project will ask you to answer these essential questions:
*What are the characteristics of Realism and its subgroups?
*What events influenced the writers of this period?
This is a tiered assignment, which means that you must find an assignment that matches your capabilities to maximize learning. Tier 1 is the easiest assignment. Tiers 2 and 3 are more challenging and interesting. Honors students must select a Tier 2 or 3 assignment. Those already enrolled in the AP program must complete the assignment for Tier 3. I encourage all of you to challenge yourselves.
This is a group assignment that can be completed with two-three students (no more), but you do not have to work in a group. If you opt to work with a partner or two, please select these individuals carefully!
The Eager Beaver assignment is optional, but thoughtful completion will earn a smile (and reward) from the Grade Goddess.
Due Date: To be announced by your teacher. For Mrs. Noel, the due date is Monday, May 7th.
Scoring Guidelines are posted on msnoel.com.
