Grassseed,ofthefollowingcomposition,proportion,andqualityshallbehydraulicallyappliedattherate of80poundsofpureliveseedperacreas shownbelowonallareasrequiringpermanenterosioncontrolseedingwithintheprojectlimits.

Roadsideseedingshallbeinstalledin2stages.Stage1willincludeseedandfertilizeronly.Atracer meetingtherequirementsof8-01.3(2) oftheStandardSpecificationsshallbeusedto aidinvisibility.

Soil amendmentshallbehydraulicallyappliedinStage2over seededareaswithin 48hoursofinitialseeding.

SoilAmendment

Soil amendmentshallbeapre-packaged,commerciallyavailable,hydraulicallyappliedblend ofnaturalfibers,mycorrhiza,growthstimulants,andotherbiologicallyactivematerialdesignedtoimproveseedgerminationandvegetationestablishment.

Soil amendmentshallbemanufacturedfrom thermallyandmechanicallyprocessedstrawandflexibleflaxfibers,sphagnumpeatmossand other biologicaladditivesatthefollowingvolumes:

1.40%byvolumeofthermallyandmechanicallyprocessedstrawandflexibleflaxfibers

2.57%byvolumeofprofessionalgradesphagnumpeatmoss

3.1.26%by volume ofother biologicaladditivesincludingtraceminerals,sugars,starches,proteins,folicacid,vitaminA,triaconnatolandtriacontanolgrowthstimulants/regulators

4.<1%by volume offungal mycorrhizaandplantbeneficialbacteria

Tackifier shallbeapre-packagedcommerciallyavailablepowder specificallydesignedandmanufacturedforusewiththespecifiedhydraulicallyappliedsoil amendment.Tackifier shallbeformulatedfrom longchain andcross-linkingmoleculesinconjunctionwith ahydrocolloidvegetablegum.

Soil amendmentshallbehydraulicallyappliedto allseededareaswithin 48hoursofthe

seedingoperationatarate of3,500poundsper acre.Soilamendmentshallprovideacontinuousanduniform coveraminimumof0.20inchesindepthoverseeded areas.Thinareasorareasofbaresoilshallnotbeallowed andwillbesupplementalsoilamendmentappliedbytheContractoratnoadditionalcosttotheContractingAgency.

Tackifier shallbemixedwithandhydraulicallyappliedas partofthesoilamendmentatarate of70poundsper acre.

Soil amendmentandtackifier shallbemixedandappliedper the manufacturer’srecommendations.

Measurement

Section8-02.4issupplementedwiththefollowing:

SoilAmendmentwillbemeasured peracreby thegroundslope ofthecompletedapplication.

Payment

Section8-02.5issupplementedwiththefollowing:“SoilAmendment”,peracre.

TheunitContractpriceper acre for“SoilAmendment” shallbefullpaytoperform theWorkas specifiedincludinganypre-applicationweedcontrol,loading,hauling,screening,stockpiling,andhydraulicplacementandspreadingofSoilAmendmentandassociatedtackifier.
