BeforeyoucanexchangeSecureMessagingPlusmessagesusinganAppleiPad,iPhone,or iTouch, youwillneedtodownloadtheSecureMessagingAppfromtheAppleiTunesStore.

OncetheApphasbeendownloadedandinstalledonthedevice,youwillbeabletouseyourSecureMessagingPlusUsernameandPasswordtoLoginandusetheapplication.IfyouhavenotbeenprovidedwithaUsernameandPassword,pleasecontactyourSM+ChannelPartnerAdministrator.

SECUREMESSAGINGPLUSCONVERSATIONS

WhenyouopentheSecureMessagingPlus(SM+)ApponanApplehandhelddevice,aConversationsscreenlistsallofyouractiveconversations,if any, andshowsyouapreviewofthemostrecentmessageineachlistedconversation.(Thismessagemaybeoneyousent,oronethatyoureceived.)

TheconversationsarerepresentedbythenameoftheContactassociatedwiththeconversation.

Conversationsthatcontainnew(unviewed)messagessentbythecontactareatthetopofthelist.Anumberinparenthesesisshowtoindicatehowmanymes-sagesfromacontactare new. Forexample,a(1)willbeshownifaconversationhasonenewmessagefromalistedContact.

TappingthisiconrefreshestheConversationslist.

Tapthisiconifyouwanttostartanewconversation.

This(1)tellsyouthatthereisonenewmessagefromtheMainOffice.

Toopenanyconversation,yousimplyneedtotapit.Forexample,toopentheconversationwithDr.Noland,youwouldsimplytapanywhereinthisarea.

TappingthesettingsiconallowsyoutorevieworchangesettingsassociatedwithyourSM+account.

Starting aNew Conversation

FollowthesestepstostartanewconversationfromtheConversationsscreen.

1LogintotheSM+App.

TheConversationscreenisdisplayed.

2Tap.

ANewMessagescreenopens.

SettingaMessageExpiration

ExpirationsettingscontrolwhenthemessagewillexpireifthemessageisnotmanuallyexpiredfromtheSM+websiteorhandhelddevice.Whenamessageisexpired,itisremovedfromallhandhelddevices(bothsender’sandreceiver’s),fromtheSM+website,andfromtheSM+database.

IfyouwanttosetspecificExpirationsettingsforamessage,tapthedefaultExpirationsetting,showninblue.(Forexample,30Days0Hours0Minutes).Thenindicateyourpreferenceforthemessage.ForanexplanationoftheExpirationoptions,seepage22.

Ifyouwanttosenda”broadcast”message,youcantypeinmultipleUsernames(separatedbysemicolons)ortapthe

iconandselectmultiplecontacts.

3IntheTofield,entertheSM+UsernameoftheSM+subscribertowhomyouwanttosendthemessage.(Ortap toselectfromyourContactslist.)

IfyouenteravalidSM+UserNamethatisnotalreadyinyourSM+Contactslist,thesubscriberwillbeaddedtotheContactslist.

4Type upto1024charactersinthemessagefield.

5Ifyouwanttosendarecordingorimageattachmentwiththemessage,tap,thenselectthefileyouwanttoattach.

6Whenyou’rereadytosendthemessage,tapSend.

Opening/Continuing an Existing Conversation

FollowthesestepsfromtheConversationscreentoopenorcontinueanexistingconversation.

1Taptheconversationthatyouwanttoopen.Theconversationisdisplayed.

Ifyouwanttomarkareceivedmessageas“read,”expireamessage,deleteamessage,orFileamessage,tapthemessage,thentapEdit.Seepage15formoreinformation.

InaMessageConversation,right-justifiedmessagesonabluebackgroundaremessagesthatYOUHAVE SENT.

The iconindicatesthatthesubscriberhasviewedthemessage.

Left-justifiedmessagesonagraybackgroundaremessagesthatwereSENTTOYOU.

Newmessagesareshowninbold-facedbluetext.

2Tosendanewmessage,typeupto1024charactersintothemessagefieldatthebottomoftheconversation.(Thisfieldismarkedwiththe icon.)

3Ifyouwanttoapplyspecialfeaturestothemessage—forexample,ifyouwanttosetaspecialMessageExpirationoraddanattachmenttothemessage—

Applying“Edit”OptionstoaMessageorMessages

IfyoutapEditintheupper-rightcornerofamessageconversation,alistofoptionsopensatthebottomofthescreen.

Touseanoption,yousimplytaptheoption,thentapthemessageormessagestowhichyouwanttoapplytheoption.

Whenyou’refinished,tapDone.(EditwillhavechangedtoDone.)

WhenEditOptionsaredisplayed:

•TapExpireMessagesifyouwanttoremoveoneormoremessagesfromallhandhelddevices(sender’sandreceiver’s),theSM+Website,andtheSM+database.(Becau-tious.Thiscannotbeundone.)

PleaseNote:

TheMarkasFiledfeatureappliestosubscriberswhoreceivemessagesfromanAnsweringService.Itletsthesubscriber“file”messages,whichallowsagentstoseethatthemessagesarenolonger“pending.”

•TapDeleteMessagesifyouwanttoremoveoneormoremessagesfromthishandheldonly.(AResynchro-nizewillrestorenon-expireddeletedmessages.Seepage23fordetails.)

•TapMarkasReadifyouwanttoletthemessagesenderknowthatyouhavereadoneormoremessages.

•TapMarkasFiledifyouwanttofileoneormoremessages.

•TapCanceltocancel.

SecureMessagingPlusContacts

AnySM+subscriberwhosendsyouamessage,ortowhomyousendamessage,isautomaticallyaddedtoyourSecureMessagingPlusContactslist.

ToseeyourContactslist,yousimplyneedtotapthe icon.

IfyourContactslistislong,youcanquicklylocateacontactbytypinganypartofthecontact’sUsernameorDisplaynameintotheSearchfield.

Todisplayasetofoptionsforanycontact,simplytapthecontact’sname.

ThescreenonthefollowingpageshowstheoptionsassociatedwiththeMainOfficecontactshowninthissamplescreen.

SecureMessagingPlusSettings

TappingtheSM+iconopensascreenfromwhichyoucanaccessandchangeanumberofdifferentSecureMessagingPlussettings.

NotificationSettingsletyouviewwhetherPushNotificationisenabledforyourdeviceandchoosetheNotificationtonesthatalertyoutoincomingSM+messages.

ExpirationSettingsaffectthedefaultsforwhenorunderwhatcircumstancesyouroutgoingmessagesexpire.

TappingDeleteAllMessagesdeletesallmessagesfromthehandheld(only).See"UsingAdvancedSettings"onpage23formoreinformation.

AccountInformationallowsyoutochangeyourSM+DisplayNameorPassword.

ChangingNotificationSettings

IfPushNotificationsareenabledforthisapplication,youwillseethe“slidebutton”inthisposition.

ToenablethisfeatureandconfigurePushNotificationpreferences,youneedtouseyourdevice’sSettingsapplication.

•TappingInAppToneallowsyoutoselectthenotificationtonethatwilloccurifamessageisreceivedwhilethesubscriberisintheSM+App.

ChangingPasscodeSettings

TappingPasscodeSettingsintheSM+Settingsscreen(shownonpage18)displaysoptionalfeaturesthatcanbeusedtoaddextralayersofsecuritytothehandheld’sSecureMessagingPlusdata.

DothefollowingtoenableextraSecurityfeatures:

•IfyouwanttorequirethatapasscodebeenteredeachtimetheSecureMes-sagingPlusAppisaccessedwhiletheuserisloggedin,tapTurnPasscodeOn,thenspecifythedesired4-digitpasscodewhenprompted.

NoticethatwithPasscodeProtectionenabled,thePasscodeoptionsread:

•TurnPasscodeOff

•ChangePasscode

Theseallowyoutoturnthe“Passcode”featureoff,orchangethePasscode,ifnecessary.

•IfyouwanttheSM+Apptoeraseallmessagesfromthedeviceafterafourthfailedattempttocorrectlyenterthepasscode,taptheEraseAllDataslidebut-ton.(ThisfeaturecanonlybeenabledifthePasscodefeatureisturnedon.)

ChangingExpirationSettings

TappingExpirationSettingsintheSM+Settingsscreen(shownonpage18)opensascreenfromwhichyoucanviewandchangeSecureMessagingPlusdefaultExpirationsettings.

ExpirationsettingscontrolwhenamessagesentbythesubscriberwillexpireifthemessageisnotmanuallyexpiredfromtheSM+websiteorhandhelddevice.Whenamessageisexpired,itisremovedfromallhandhelddevices(bothsender’sandreceiver’s),fromtheSM+Website,andfromtheSM+database.

DothefollowingtosetorchangedefaultExpirationsettingsinthisscreen:

•UndertheExpirationTimeheading,specifyadefaultexpirationtimeforsentmessagesthatarenotexpiredbyothermeans(onread,onfile,ormanually).Forexample,10Days.

•TapExpireOnreadifyouwantSM+messagessentbythesubscribertobeexpiredwhentheyaremarkedasReadbythemessagereceiver.

•TapExpireOnFileifyouwantSM+messagessentbythesubscribertobeexpiredwhentheyareFiledbythemessagereceiver.

UsingAdvancedSettings

ThreefeaturesareavailableundertheAdvancedheadingintheSecureMessag-ingPlusSettingsscreen:Resynchronize;DeleteAllMessages;andSignOut.

MessagesreceivedAFTERaDeleteAllMessagesisissuedareNOTaffected.

Resynchronize

TappingResynchronizerefreshestheConversationsandContactsonthedevice.Alldeletedmessagesarerestored,butexpiredmessagesareNOTrestored.(ExpiredmessagesareremovedpermanentlyfromalldevicesaswellastheSecureMessagingPluswebsiteanddatabase.)

Delete All Messages

TappingDeleteAllMessagesremovesallmessagesfromthisdeviceonly.(TheyareNOTexpired.)PleasenotethatifyousubsequentlyperformaResynchro-nize,deletedmessages(thathavenotexpired)willreappear.

SignOut

TappingSignOutlogsyououtoftheSecureMessagingPlusApp.
