Sectional Tournament Duties & Responsibilities

  1. In January talk to/e-mailRichard Metayer at Elks Club to reserve facility for tournament(s) the following year. 244-5381 (Elks Lodge) 420-2982 (Richard’s Cell)– 1stweekend in October and 3rd weekend in January.

  1. At go to Tourney TRAX in the Tournaments column. Select My Tournaments. Enter Tournament times and fill form with Schedule details. Attach a copy of the tournament flyer.
  1. Create flyer (use previous tournament flyer as template).
  2. Make arrangements with host hotel for special Bridge rate (if applicable).
  3. Verify Partnership Chair (Currently Linda Zdnek and/or Marilyn Gusky)
  4. Verify Hospitality Chair (Currently Sandy Carney)

  1. Supplies from Baron Barclay (Supply Coordinator – currently Karen Couch - for club will handle but needs to be apprised of needs. Inventory 45 days before tournament).

  1. Flyers need to be, copied and sent to nearby bridge clubs. Address envelopes from attached list or:

Use Avery 8164 Labels Go to and select “Design and Print Online” from the “Templates and Software” menu.

Click on “Open Project” and select template for Labels (Sectional Labels 1.avery,

Sectional Labels 2.avery, Sectional Labels 3.avery and Sectional Labels 4. Avery).

Follow directions to print each in turn.

  1. Coordinate room reservations for director (usually Nancy Watkins – 678-522-7996) and confirm with him/her. Reservations needed Thursday thru Sunday nights. Nancy has been making her own reservations.

9. Coordinate board duplication with Sue Smith 850-995-7125.

10. Coordinate caddies with Carla Burke .

  1. Arrange for bidding boxes to be transported from Pensacola to FWB after their November tournament (for our January tournament in even numbered years) and from Tallahassee after their August tournament (for our October tournament). Usually someone who plays at the preceding tournament brings the bidding boxes back with them and they are stored at the club.
  1. Coordinate food/beverage including Friday night food brought in by members. Arrange for $20/day for donuts. Work with Richard Metayer at Elks Club(This is handled by the Hospitality Chair, currently Sandy Carney)
  1. Arrange for tables and supplies to be moved from Fort Walton Club to Elks club. Load tables Tuesday before tournament and set up after game on Thursday. Unload and store tables on Tuesday after tournament.

  3. Swiss Supplies (2 Blue Boxes in club office)
  4. Metal bidding box holders (under desk in office)
  5. Plastic trash bags for tables

  1. Get boards and dealing machine from Pensacola and/or arrange to have boards pre-dealt. Audree Newman has been coordinating this with Pensacola.
