Rein’s Deli, Vernon, CT

President Pam called the meeting to order at 6:50. Present were; Pam O’Day, Diane Mathieu, Martha Davis, Nancy Triou, Pam Burek, Eileen O’Donnell, Steve Basson, Bob Young, Karen Scotti, Gretchen Wiedie and Lynette Bresnahan.

Secretary’s Report; Approved via e-mail.

Treasurer’s report; Steve reviewed P & L. He reported that $21,000 of our checking account is earmarked for the Cluster. He has prepaid Tolland partial rental of $1000 and Max 200 for Tolland Trial. There is $12,400.00 in checking account for general use.

Karen moved that the report be accepted. Bob seconded.

Library and Petflix; Diane reported that we have the following new books in our library;

·  Behavior Adjustment Training By: Grisha Stewart

·  Strategies for Start-Line Confidence 2-DVD By: Dr. Katherine McAleese

·  Agility Diary From Puppy Tricks to Podium DVD By: Silvia Trkman

Steve will look into repairing the combination lock at Tails-U-Win.

Legal Liaison; Bob received an e-mail from AKC regarding getting donations from Clubs to support both State and National dog related issues.

=>Bob made a motion to give a donation of $250 to AKC PAC. Martha seconded. Motion passed.

OLD BUSINESS

Cluster; Steve reported the Cluster will hold Premier Standard course on Friday and Premier JWW on Sunday. Prices will be $27 for the first run, $17for the second, $16 for third and $16 for fourth.

LL Bean; Bob is waiting for the new Fall catalog before putting out another clothing order.

Lands End; Nancy is still researching alternative embroidery places. Bob will see if it is possible to get the file from LL Bean to send to Lands End.

Run Thrus; There will be run thrus Sept 19. Pam spoke to Peg Grey about coming to this run thru to give a short seminar on human fitness. Peg will be unable to attend this weekend but will look into October. Run thrus will be held outdoors if possible.

Orange fencing; Pam was able to sell our unused orange fencing to OMA’s in Avon and Hartford Obedience Training Club.

Two measuring wheels have been ordered.

Web Site; Pam will resend Lorna’s letter explaining things that are being worked on with the Web Site. Discussion will be held at the next meeting.

NEW BUSINESS

Fall Trial financials update; Latest numbers indicate a much better turnout than first thought. Bob went over logistics for the trial. It was decided to do 4 worker tickets per class. There was discussion of the feasibility of holding the match first thing in the morning. Pam is contacting AKC to get the final word. The Trial will be dedicated to Sandi Thompson who passed away recently.

Worker Ticket Rewards; There was a lengthy discussion on who and how much the various positions should receive for worker tickets and certificates. This will continue next meeting.

Chip Scanner; Pam brought up the idea about buying a chip scanner to provide as a service to members. The idea was tabled for this meeting.

Bobbie Lyons; Laura Bauver has agreed to be the coordinator for this event. A deposit has been sent.

2016 Winter Trial; Eileen brought up the possibility of adding Premier Class Std to Saturday and Premier JWW to Sunday at the Hamden trial. We will wait to see how the Cluster makes out with this before we finalize this discussion.

2016/ 17 Board of Directors; The nominating committee must be formed and come up with a slate of officers by October. These officers will be submitted in November. Diane Mathieu will be the nominating Chair.

Star Hill Future Dates; Steve will talk to Mike at Star Hill to lock in prices. He will bring the results back to the BOD.

Invitation to BOD; Our Companions is holding an open house on October 3 and has invited anyone interested to attend.

Donations; We are still investigating a variety of places where we can donate money. This will be discussed later.

Pam thanked the BOD for their dedication and hard work.

Meeting was adjourned at 9:02.
