Directly and through agencies, I work for several well-known American, Italian and foreign corporations. Types of documents translated: financial statements, patents, contracts, complaints, minutes of Board of Directors’ meetings, company bylaws; manuals (user’s, O&M, training); specifications; tender bids; promotional and advertising material. Interpreting: Depositions, negotiations, business meetings for companies in various technical fields (aerospace, mechanical, civil engineering; financial services). Previous Experience

1992 – 1994: Partner of F.P.M. Space Srl, a small engineering firm specialized in designing and prototyping antenna systems for telecommunication and scientific satellites and for their ground stations. Among the Firm’s clients were the European Space Agency and Alenia, Italy’s largest aerospace Company. I was in charge of Business Development, so I frequently wrote and/or translated technical/commercial bids, progress reports, and feasibility studies.

1990 – 1992: With the Defense Systems Division of Alenia. First as Assistant to the Head of R&D for military research programs, then as Program Manager for Avionics Development of the AM-X attack aircraft. In both capacities, I wrote and/or translated numerous studies, reports, and other technical documents.

Military Service

1987 – 1989: Instructor at the SurfaceWarfareOfficersSchool – Division Officer Course. Teaching first Combat Systems, then Navigation and Watch Standing. Earned the Navy Master Training Specialist designation, awarded to personnel who demonstrate superior subject matter knowledge and communications skills.

1984 – 1987: Embarked aboard USS Biddle (CG-34), a guided missile cruiser with her homeport in Norfolk, Virginia. Serving first as Missile Officer, then Electronic Warfare Officer, and lastly as Propulsion Machinery Officer. I completed two full deployments, the first one to the Mediterranean and Black Sea, the second one to the Mediterranean and Indian Ocean. The ship paid numerous visits to Italian ports, such as Naples, Gaeta, and Trieste, and French ones, such as Toulon and Marseilles; I often served as the ship’s interpreter and translator in operational situations and at official functions.
