(Cheerleaders are expected to arrive 45 minutes before each game to warm up and pass off back tucks and tumbling pass before game.)

Poor game and practice conduct
(poor attitude, not participating—including failure to attempt tuck and tumbling pass before game, chewing gum, eating, drinking, cell phone or electronics use, talking with friends, not sitting with group) / 5 per infraction
No cell phones seen, used, or heard once cheerleader arrives at practice, game, or assembly when sitting together as the cheer team. / 5 per infraction
INSUBORDINATION
Defined as willful or rebellious disobedience to the authority of a superior—teacher, chaperone, advisor, coach, administrator, squad officer, etc. / 10

ILLEGAL OR INAPPROPRIATE PARTIES
Proof of a cheerleader attending a party with illegal or inappropriate activity (including, but not limited to e-cigs, smoking, alcohol, dirty dancing); will also result in probation or dismissal from the team. / 20
INAPPROPRIATE SOCIAL MEDIA USE
Proof of a cheerleader participating in online bullying, sexting, or other inappropriate uses of social media will result in probation and/or points deduction. / 30
  • Members are allowed 1 “free” excused absence for acceptable excuses (listed in the constitution) for which no points will be docked. After the 1 “free” excused absence for and acceptable excuse is used, excused absences will receive a 5-point deduction. All unexcused absences receive a 10-point deduction.
  • In addition to the 1 “free” excused absence, members will be allowed 3 “free” ACADEMIC excused absences during basketball season for games only. These are to be used to study for upcoming tests, do homework, or to write papers and MUST BE EXCUSED WITH AN EMAIL FROM YOUR TEACHER TO THE CHEER ADVISOR by 3:15 p.m. on the school day of the game you will be missing.
  • Each cheerleader will begin with 100 points. When a member has lost thirty (30) points, she will be placed on probation. If she loses all 100 points, she will be dismissed from the group.
  • Point makeup assignments must be advisor approved. (See “Point Reconciliation Tasks” below.)

RULES FOR EXCUSES ARE AS FOLLOWS:

  1. Excuses must be called in or told to Michelle or Maureen at least 1 hour before the event begins.
  2. Work is not an excuse for games, regularly scheduled practices, or any other event determined at least two weeks in advance.
  3. Cheerleaders cannot miss a practice for any reason two weeks before any performance.

10 / Decorate a sports team’s lockers
15 / Stay after school for 1 hour and help janitors empty trash, etc.
15 / Vacuum the mats
20 / Go out into community and get $100 worth of sponsors for general cheer fund (not personal cheer account)
*Additional tasks may be added by coaches and advisor throughout the year.
*Any other tasks to make up points must be approved by Michelle or Maureen
& must have something to do with cheer and/or Weber High.
