Goals/Objectives for the 2015-2016 Fiscal Year:

1.  Establish and implement archiving system for Sioux Chapter

2.  Increase CE opportunities for members (Goal of 2 CE opportunities this year – in past have only had 1)

3.  Increase marketing efforts of Sioux Chapter (email, SDCA website, Facebook, logo, etc)

Accomplishments from Board retreat (7/31/15) to…

First Quarter (Oct/Nov meeting)

General:

Held Sioux Chapter board retreat in the summer for Executive Board Members.

Scheduled Executive Board meetings for entire year (one planned each month).

Planned and publicized calendar of events for the entire year (one event planned each month).

Completed financial audit on August 11, 2015.

Held first meeting and mixer for current and prospective Sioux Chapter members (approximately 20 in attendance).

Goal 1:

Created google docs account for archiving purposes, trained board members on how to use system, and began saving documents to it.

Goal 2:

Contacted speaker, reserved room, and applied for CE’s through SDCA for an upcoming CE opportunity for counselors.

Goal 3:

Updated Sioux Chapter website with current headshots of Board Members.

Utilized SDCA email and website advertising (banner) for Fall Mixer event.

Posted flyer on Sioux Chapter Facebook page for Fall Mixer event.

Contacted local artist about creating/updating Sioux Chapter logo.

Second Quarter (Jan/Feb meeting):

General:

Held monthly Executive Board meetings.

Hosted low cost ($5) social event for members (wine and cheese tasting) in October.

Hosted 1st CE workshop at low cost ($5) to members in November with 13 attendees.

Participated in community service in December at the local soup kitchen (The Banquet), where we served 128 people meals (100 adults, 28 children).

Held 2nd official meeting for Sioux Chapter members in January in conjunction with Holiday Party (20 attendees).

Through a financial donation became a “Friend of Avera Behavioral Health” to help increase resources for treating mental health in the community and decrease the stigma.

Goal 1:

Continued to use google docs throughout the quarter to save meeting minutes and event flyers on the Sioux Chapter account for archiving purposes.

Goal 2:

Set date for 2nd CE opportunity (Building Healthy Relationships Workshop will be June 9-10, 2016 at The University of Sioux Falls), and we secured our Ethics speaker for this event.

Goal 3:

Utilized SDCA website to promote Friday Forums, Sioux Chapter Holiday Party and CE workshop.

Utilized SDCA email to promote monthly events.

Utilized Sioux Chapter Facebook page to post flyer for CE workshop and Holiday Party.

Local artist presented 6 new Sioux Chapter logo ideas for the Executive Board to review.

Third Quarter (Conference meeting):

General:

Held monthly Executive Board meetings.

Hosted a family event at the bowling alley in February (12 adults and 6 children in attendance).

In March we held our annual wine dinner event (11 attendees), which was also when we conducted our third official Sioux Chapter meeting.

Submitted SDCA Award nominations.

Goal 1:

Continued to use google docs throughout the quarter to save meeting minutes, event flyers, and pictures from our events on the Sioux Chapter account for archiving purposes.

Goal 2:

Secured remainder of speakers for our 2nd CE opportunity, which is an ethics workshop that will be held in June. We also completed the CE approval paperwork.

Goal 3:

Utilized SDCA website to promote monthly events (family bowling and wine dinner).

Continued to utilize SDCA email to promote monthly events.

Maintained Sioux Chapter Facebook page throughout the quarter. On our page we advertised our events this quarter (family bowling and wine dinner); posted pictures from Day on the Hill; and provided a press release from Governor Daugaard regarding funding for mental health in South Dakota’s criminal justice system.

Received revised version of logo ideas and the Executive Board offered feedback.

Worked on display board to promote Sioux Chapter at the annual SDCA conference.

End of Year Report:

General:

Held monthly Executive Board meetings.

In May we hosted an End of the Year Celebration (24 attendees), where we provided free appetizers to all the guests. During this event we conducted our fourth official Sioux Chapter meeting. Some of the agenda items included reviewing goals accomplished this past year, sharing our financial report for the 2015-2016 year, and electing our 2016-2017 Executive Board members.

Goal 1:

Continued to use google docs throughout the quarter to save meeting minutes, event flyers, and pictures from our events on the Sioux Chapter account for archiving purposes. All of our documents from the 2015-2016 year are now saved in this one location for future board members to access.

Goal 2:

On June 9th and 10th we will be conducting our 2nd CE opportunity, which is the Building Healthy Relationships workshop (currently 35 people registered). This workshop provides 14 CE’s, including 4 hours of ethics and 1 graduate credit.

Goal 3:

Utilized email to promote Year End Celebration event and Building Healthy Relationships workshop.

Plan to Accomplish Goals/Objectives to be accomplished by next board retreat (6/30/16)

Consider new logo ideas presented.
