APPLICATION CHECKLIST

CRITERIA

The following are lists of criteria against which applications will be assessed. These are also shown in the Guidelines document. Primary criteria are essential and Secondary criteria are desirable.

Primary criteria (essential requirements):

  • The club/facility must be a current ClubGolf and/or Get into Golf club/facility with no resident PGA Professional
  • The club/facility has engaged with their Regional Club Development Officer in putting together this application.
  • The club/facility must have provided up-to-date detailed information to their Regional Club Development Officer on their coaching programme and junior membership at the club
  • The club/facility will ensure all coaches are licensed by The Professional Golfers Association
  • The club/facility encourages its coaching team to attend and receive Professional Development opportunities
  • The club/facility must have provided up-to-date detailed information to their Regional Club Development Officer on the current coaching workforce at the club which includes both PGA Professionals, Assistant Professionals and Volunteer Coaches.
  • The club/facility has reviewed the coaching workforce and considered the coaching workforce required for future ClubGolf and/or Get into Golf delivery.
  • The club must be live on the Central Database of Handicaps (CDH) (Scottish Golf Affiliated clubs only)
  • The Club must provide a copy of its constitution/Articles and a copy of the most recent audited accounts

In addition to each of the criteria above, the club/facilitymust self-declare that it meets the following criteria:

  • The club/facility has an up-to-date constitution

  • The club/facilityis financially solvent

  • The club/facilitywelcomes children at any age and to join the club by at latest 9 years of age (SGL Affiliated clubs only)

  • The club/facilityprovides competitive opportunities to junior members

  • The club/facilityis compliant with The Equality Act 2010

  • The club/facilityhas a Junior Section, Junior Convenor and Child Protection Officer and Policy

  • The club/facilitymust be up to date with subscription payments to the SGL
(SGL affiliated clubs only)
  • The club/facilityhas an up-to-date disciplinary procedure in place

Secondary Criteria (against which an application will also be assessed):

  • The club/facilityis engaged in the SGL Club Governance & Business Planning Review Process (where applicable)

  • The club/facilitycirculates the SGL Committee Update to committee members (where applicable)

  • The club/facilityutilises XactAdvice, some similar service (Health & Safety and Employment Law) or has the appropriate procedures in place

  • The club/facilityutilises the Tourism Monitor and Benchmarking Service (where applicable) (Exception: where a club is applying separately to the SGL Club Development Fund for IT equipment to enable achievement of this criterion)
