Project Justification:
The office of Student Life has requested this project to increase student awareness of clubs and organizations across campus. The project will enlighten current and future students of social life at ClaytonStateUniversity and increase student participation in campus events. The budget for the project is $10,000. There will be no additional operational expenses after the project has been completed.
Product Characteristics and Requirements:
- Flyers. Will not be put up over currently posted flyers. Printed on Letter sized (8.5x11) paper. Must be professional in content and design as well as agree with ClaytonState’s previously set regulations and policies.
- E-mail. Must be professional in content and design as well as agree with ClaytonState’s previously set regulations and policies.
- Survey.Presented by e-mail and face-to-face to the student body. Surveys presented by e-mail must contain no more than 10 questions and those presented face-to-face only 5. Questions must strictly relate to clubs and organizations only.
Summary of Project Deliverables
Project management-related deliverables: charter, team contract, scope statement, WBS, schedule, cost baseline, final project presentation, lessons-learned report.
Product-related deliverables:
- E-mail. Containing information about the website and results of the survey.
- Flyers. Include information to promote the website and increase student awareness of current events and activities on campus.
- Survey. To collect information to determine what to put on the website and if the website should be continued once finished.
- Website. Will include relevant information about clubs and organizations as well as provide links and contact information.
Project Success Criteria:
Our goal is to increase student awareness by ten percent and complete the project within two months. The budget must remain under $10,000. In order to meet this goal each team member must put in three work hours per week. Deliverables must be completed on time and within the sponsor’s specifications. Late completion of the project is not acceptable, but an increase in student awareness will still be viewed as a success.
