Slow Food East End/Josh Levine Memorial Foundation
School Garden Grant Application Form
Through the continuous generosity and support of the Joshua Levine Memorial Foundation, Slow Food East End has been able to help promote and sustain the efforts 0f the school garden movement on the East End of Long Island. This year, Slow Food East End funded three farmer intern positions, who are currently working with schools on the North and South Forks affiliated with the Edible School Gardens of the East End program. In addition to these three internships, grants are now available to fund the specific needs of these garden programs such as the purchase of garden tools, supplies and materials.
APPLICANTS MUST:
- Be a nonprofit school or school district (public, private or charter, elementary, middle or secondary) or a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization working in partnership with one or more schools.
- Have an established school garden project.
- Be a member of Edible School Garden Group and Slow Food East End Chapter (SlowFoodeastend.com).
- Have the capacity to manage grant funds responsibly.
- Demonstrate that the garden project has strong participation from stakeholders within the school, including the school principal or other school administrator.

Reporting Requirements:
We request that each garden school garden receiving an educational grant post photographs and/or school garden updates on the Josh Levine Memorial Foundation facebook page in recognition of this very generous donation. Additionally, posts can be made on the Slow Food East End and Edible Schoolyards of the East End facebook pages to help promote and sustain the school garden movement.
