The Special Meeting of the Board of Education held on Tuesday, November 3, 2009, was called to order at 8:30 P.M.by Board Chair Thomas Klyve. Members present: Langworthy, Seaworth, Boyd, Klyve, and Anderson. Members absent: Boyle.

Motion bySeaworth, seconded byLangworthy, to approve the Agenda for the November 3, 2009, Special School Board Meeting as presented. Motion carried unanimously.

Motion by Boyd, seconded by Langworthy, to approve the following Consent Agenda items as presented. Motion carried unanimously.

  1. Approve the Personnel Items:

1)Resignations:

Sue Satran, High School Special Education Paraprofessional, effective October 9, 2009.

Stephanie Lorz, 9th Grade Girls' Softball Coach, effective for the 2009-2010 school year.

Barbara Thomsen, Roosevelt Elementary Title I Paraprofessional, effective May 22, 2009.

2)Appointments:

Brandy Johnson, High School Special Education Paraprofessional, at the rate of $12.62 per hour working 29.5 hours per week, effective October 9, 2009.

Sue Woytassek, School Safety Patrol Monitor, at the rate of $13.39 per hour, working 1 hour per day, or 5 hours per week, effective October 19, 2009.

Casey Berntson, Middle School Targeted Services Instructor Boys' and Girls' Club, at the rate of $25.00 per hour, effective October 20, 2009.

Lynn Holland, Middle School Targeted Services Instructor, at the rate of $25.00 per hour, effective October 20, 2009.

Patricia Klatt, Graduation Remediation Coach (Math) Lake Park/Audubon, at the rate of $25.00 per hour, effective October 26, 2009.

Nicole Seyfried, Graduation Remediation Coach (Math) Lake Park/Audubon, at the rate of $25.00 per hour, effective October 26, 2009.

Cami Eckhoff, Long-Term Substitute High School Physical Education Instructor for Beth Leighton, at the rate of BA, Step 1, working 98 days, or a total prorated contract amount of $17,469.48, effective October 5, 2009 through March 5, 2010.

Amy Pederson, Roosevelt Elementary Noon Duty Supervisor, at the rate of $12.05 per hour, working 1 hour per day, effective September 8, 2009.

Barbara Thomsen, .5 Reading Recovery Instructor, at the rate of BA, Step 1, or a total prorated contract amount of $15,865.00, effective August 31, 2009.

3)Amended Contracts:

Sue Woytassek, Roosevelt Elementary Title I Paraprofessional, increasing her hours from 2.75 to 3.0 hours per day, effective September 8, 2009.

Sue Woytassek, Roosevelt Elementary Noon Duty Supervisor, decreasing her hours from 2.0 to 1.75, effective September 8, 2009.

Melyssa Belland, American Indian Knowledge Bowl Coach, to increase her rate of pay from $14.00 to $15.00 per hour, effective October 1, 2009.

4)New Position:

Targeted Services Paraprofessionals – Rossman, Roosevelt, Middle School, Pelican Elementary and Middle School, Boys' and Girls' Club, and DLCCC

BApprove the MSHSL Foundation for the 2009-2010 school year. (EXHIBIT)

Motion by Seaworth, seconded by Boyd, to approve the Election Returns from the Tuesday, November 3, 2009, Special Election as tabulated below. Motion carried unanimously.

Motion by Seaworth, seconded by Boyd, to adjourn the meeting –9:10 P.M. Motion carried unanimously.
