A School-based Apprenticeship isan opportunity to get a headstart on a career. Undertaken part‑time, it combines paid employment, off-the-job vocational training and secondary school studies. Students gainhands-on industry experience and the opportunity to study a nationally recognised qualification while completing VCE/VCAL.

Classes are held one day per week at the Monash University Clayton campus.

2017: Wednesdays 9am-3.30pm 8th February – 25th October. No classes during school holidays.

Students will have the opportunity to be a part of the Monash community, gaining an insight into university life, exploring the campus, utilising our world-class facilities and working with mentors from the University.

An apprenticeships provider assists students to find paid employment,allowingthem to earn an income. Employment is typically one day per week, varyingwith the needs of the employer.

Government funding covers most of the fees associated with this training. Fees are typically $150.

The Certificate III in Business Administration (Medical) will set you on a career path within the medical industry. Relevant job roles can include:

  • Medical receptionist/Medical secretary
  • Medical typist
  • Medical records clerk
  • Administrative assistant

This qualification providesa pathway into higher level qualifications (Certificate IV or Diplomas) which may then be used to help with entry to University degree courses.

Students need to be a minimum of 15 years and be an Australian citizen/permanent resident or an asylum seeker.
