SAPIEN Technologies today announced the release of PrimalScript 4.1, the latest version of their award-winning universal script environment. Along with significant new features for VBScript, Web, and XML development, 4.1 includes comprehensive new support for Windows PowerShell™ the new Windows command line shell and scripting language released today by Microsoft Corporation.
Alex Riedel, Chief Technology Officer for SAPIEN Technologies, said, "While VBScript will continue to be a popular and effective tool for Windows administration, Windows PowerShell offers a consistent, flexible environment for automating a wide range of system administration tasks. We felt that it was important for PrimalScript to provide best-in-class support for Windows PowerShell, bringing it close to the level of support we already offer for VBScript." Windows PowerShell support in PrimalScript 4.1 includes live syntax checking, integrated display of cmdlet help, syntax color coding, code completion and hinting for cmdlets, and much more. Riedel noted that future versions of PrimalScript would continue to build on these features to provide an ever-more-powerful environment for working with Windows PowerShell.
"Windows PowerShell makes IT Professionals more productive by providing an easy-to-use, manage and deploy scripting language that is designed specifically for the unique needs of Windows IT Professionals, said Jeffrey Snover, Architect of Windows PowerShell at Microsoft. "SAPIEN PrimalScript 4.1’s rich interactive development environment makes it even easier for IT Professionals to quickly learn and use Windows PowerShell. Furthermore, PrimalScript’s source code control capabilities are especially helpful for managing Windows PowerShell scripts across an enterprise."
