**Libero/DS Academy/ Hitter AcademyNEW THIS YEAR!
We are excited about offering these! There is such a demand for players to learn these positions in more depthand that is what this camp is all about. These were created to go hand-in-hand with our all-skills camps. We want you to learn the whole game, in the all-skills camp, and to get specific in a certain skill. For 6th-9th graders in the DS/Libero Academy, we will emphasize digging and passing (teaching the specific skills necessary for each), working with settersin the Setter Academy, plus other important skills for these specific players. In the hitters academy, we will spend time on arm position, body position, attacking angles, power approaches, plus so much more. We encourage you to come to the All-Skills camp, and one of the specialty academies to get the most skill enhancement. If you want to be a 6 rotation player, these are greatopportunitiesfor you to add to the All-Skills camp.
Skills
Skills covered in all-skills camps include Serving, Passing, Setting, Attacking, Movement, Offensive and Defensive team play, and personal defensive skills.
Setter Academy
For incoming 6th graders and up. This is the 11th year of our setter training camp. From beginners to the more experienced setter, we will emphasize the progression of basic fundamentals and proper techniques necessary in setting. Setters will learn proper footwork, hand position, set tempo set adjustments, working with DS Academy and Hitter Academy kids, as well as many other drills and exercises they can work on at home.
3rd – 5th Grade
For students who are entering 3-5th grade in the fall. Instruction covers basic fundamentals, movement skills, and modified games on smaller courts with lower nets and lighter balls. Skills are taught and practiced leading up to games. Campers will be participating in a serving contest, triples, and 6 on 6 competitions.
6th-9th Grade
Designed for students entering 6th-9th grades in the fall. All skills are covered at a level they will need for junior high and high school play. Campers are grouped according to skill level in order to meet each girls needs more effectively. All fundamental skills are covered, including offensive and defensive systems. Campers participate in doubles, triples, and team competitions. Recommended for girls wanting to learn skills or brush up on skills in preparation for school tryouts in August.
**Open Play**
