Motivational Interviewing (MI) BeginnerTraining

About the Course:

This beginning level training in MI will introduce participants to the foundational components and philosophies of MI, including the MI Spirit, techniques (OARS), and the Four Processes. Participants will receive feedback and coaching while engaging in multiple experiential practices leading to the ability to deliver MI at a beginning level. Avenues for continued practice and coaching will be explored in an effort to provide participants a pathway for continued skill development.

Instruction of this program will be by:

Leslie Barfknecht, LCSW is a Co-Founder of Change Partnership, LLC. Leslie has worked in a variety of public and private agencies in direct practice and administrative roles for over 15 years and is currently a Treatment Supervisor for the State of Wisconsin. She holds a Master’s degree in Social Work.

Winnie Austin, LMFT is owner of Affinity Counseling & Education Center, PLLC. where she provides counseling to individuals, couples and families. She also works at STAND treating individuals in the correctional system. She holds a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy.
