Supplementary Tournament Rules and Regulations

1. All official FIDE Laws of Chess shall apply. It will supplemented by these Supplementary tournament rules and regulations.

2. This event will be played in five to sixcategories:

Under-9 (Boys & 9 Girls), Under-12 (Boys & Girls),
Under-15 (Boys & Girls), Under-20 (Boys & Girls).

3. The Organising Committee has the right to accept or reject entries without explanation, cancel or modify an age group and/or reduce or increase prizes for a particular section if they deem fit.

SPlayers do not need to record the moves (Appendix A2)

SIllegal move (Appendix A4)
An illegal move shall result in the loss of the game. However, the game is drawn if the position is such that the claimant cannot checkmate the player’s king by any possible series of legal moves.

SThe conduct of the players(Article 11)
Action will be taken against any player who violates any of the conditions under this article.

5. Defaults

SAll absences shall be declared in default. Waiting period shall be 20 minutes from the start of each respective round

STwo consecutive unauthorised defaults shall be deemed as a withdrawal from this tournamentunless prior notice has been given to the Chief Arbiter. The player will not be paired for the rest of the event unless a written letter is received by the Chief Arbiter.

6. Appeals

SThe Appeals Committee shall consist of any 3 members who will be appointed by the Chief Arbiter and Tournament Director.

SAny member of this Appeals Committee shall not be a party to the appeal.

SAny appeal against the decision of the arbiter must be submitted in writing, latest by 5 minutes after the round ends.

SThe appeal must be accompanied by a deposit of RM300.

SThe pairings for the next round shall be delayed until a decision is made. On a successful appeal the results shall be amended and the new pairings published. The deposit shall be returned. If the appeal is rejected, the deposit shall be forfeited.

7. Tiebreak rules (Swiss tournaments for individuals)

8. Refund policy

SFull refund of the entry fee if the request comes in latest by 6pm on 21 July 2016.

SNo request for refund of entry fee will be entertained on or after 21 July 2016.
