Let’s Excel in Latin Class!
Attention Latin Students! Whether you have a high or low grade in Latin class, there is always room to improve. Here are some ways to excel in Latin class…
- Make Flashcards:Make flashcards of your vocabulary words. Drill yourself daily. Ask a parent or friend to help quiz you.
- Be Organized:Keep your school binder organized so you don’t lose homework and handouts. Try to make it a routine – as soon as you come home from school, clean out your backpack and organize your papers.
- Use Your Planner:If you struggle keeping track of assessment and test dates, use your planner! Be sure to listen to my daily reminders and write down the important due dates I provide you.
- Use My Website:My Murchison staff page provides updates on homework, due dates, and outside resources. It’s a great resource if you should get sick and need to keep up with your classwork from home.
- Study at Home:Study before quizzes and tests. 15-30 minutes of studying can make a big difference.
- Learn from Your Mistakes:Pay attention when we go over assessments and tests as a class. Understand why you missed questions so that next time you don’t make the same mistakes.
- Attend Tutorials:Please take the initiative to attend tutorials. I’m always here to help but you have to take the initiative and be responsible for your own learning.
- Get Work Completed Early:Turn in projects, papers, and presentations on time. My late-work policy is listed above. This policy is in place to recognize those who work hard to get their work completed on time.
I have read the policies and expectations for Latin class and understand them. If I choose not to meet these expectations, I am willing to accept the consequences.
