SAFETY REPRESENTATIVES MONTHLY MEETING MINUTES

- Meeting Called to Order:

- Absent: Company Office, Command Suite, Contracts, MFSC, Union, and SBPO

- National Safety Month: June 2018
- Last call for a committee to plan activities/events!!!!
- Need 5-6 volunteers

- Registration has begun
- Fire Warden/Fire Extinguisher Inspections:
- Fire extinguishers will be tracked in ESAMS using e-tracker.
- Used to track location, inspections and replacements.
- Fire wardens will receive notice from ESAMS when inspections are due
- Maps were emailed to the Safety Representatives to identify which fire extinguishers belong to what area.

- Quarterly Inspection:
- Please ensure that discrepancies from last inspection are abated and then signed off in ESAMS.
- Monthly Inspections In ESAMS:
- Go to the “inspection tab” and create a new inspection. Monthly inspections will be tracked through ESAMS.
- Quarterly inspections will be due in April 2018.
- Upcoming Training Evolutions:
- JHA review and training
- Needed to be completed by everyone by COB 28 February 2018
- ESAMS Training – anyone needing additional training on how to navigate through ESAMS please contact Mr. Randall Sexton.

- March Safety Brief:
- March – National Poison Prevention Week
- Key note to remember is that most poisonings involve everyday household items such as cleaning supplies, medicines, cosmetics, and personal care items.
- Focus on workplace poison prevention.
- Mishap/ Near Miss Reporting:
- Make sure everyone is conducting mishap/near miss reporting no matter how small the incident may seem.
- A near miss, "near hit", "close call", or "nearly a collision" is an unplanned event that has the potential to cause, but does not actually result in human injury, environmental or equipment damage, or an interruption to normal operation.
- Ergonomics:
- Safety Reps will be the first step in the Ergonomic Assessment.
- Please ensure that your department knows to go to you first.
- Must have a valid medical diagnosis in order to receive special office equipment.
- Submitting claims through CAP.
- - is used to order computer items such as the monitor stands, keyboards, mouse, telephone headsets.
- Chairs would have to be ordered through DSSC.
- Discussion:
- Everyone needs to get more employees involved in reporting near misses.
- Mr. John Browner stated he would like to see more of a safety precaution taken from vehicles driving onto the Base that have to yield to adjacent traffic. Mr. Sexton stated he has spoken with Base Police and due to the shortage of manpower, the Base Police can do little at this time except monitor periodically the safety measures that are currently in place.
- When taking someone out of ESAMS and they are transferring to another work location, please make sure to transfer them to their next work location/assignment and do not deactivate them.
