Unit Statement:In this unit students will be introduced to the Russian Romanticism and will discover Pushkin’s personal life and his works.

Essential Outcomes: (Assessed)

  1. The Student Will describe Russian Romanticism, and read and analyze Zhukovsky’s ballads.
  1. TSW read and analyze a selection of Pushkin’s poems.
  1. TSW recite two of Pushkin’s poems.
  1. TSW identify “Onegin’s stanza”.
  1. TSWanalyze the characteristics of the nobility in Russia through the figures of Onegin, Lensky and Tatiana.
  1. TSW create a presentation on a given topic.
  1. TSW write an essay: Tatiana is Pushkin’s Ideal Russian Woman.
