RTI Leadership Principals Guide Module

About the MN RTICenter training modules:

The MN RTI Center Modules are resources for colleges and universities to use in preservice training for educators. They also could be used by school districts for inservice professional development, e.g., in workshops or PLCs. Professors and school district personnel will be able to download the module contents from the MN RTI Center website ( then click on MN RTI Center) and use them “as is” or use them to enhance their own teaching and practice of the topics. Modules are designed so the powerpoint could be delivered in lecture format in 1 or 2 class or training sessions. Although RTI is a systems framework that can encompass all academic and social/emotional/behavioral areas, these modules are focused on RTI in the area of reading.

TheRTI Leadership Principals Guide module:

This module assumes some prior knowledge of what Response to Intervention is. If the presenter is unsure of prior knowledge of the group to be taught, it is suggested that the introductory module be presented prior to this module. There are several other component modules that could be of value to participants prior to the introduction of this content – leadership.

Extensive notes within the powerpoint give further explanation and suggested activities, etc.

1. Powerpoint with detailed notes, activities/discussion questions, references and additional resources

2. Sixarticles(PDFs/Word documents) to choose reading selections to accompany this module
